Go to the pilot career menu and select any campaign you want and set your pilot's rank to the second highest it goes.

Play through the career until you get to an air raid mission. You will know it is an air raid when it says "Enemy planes inbound from the (Direction)" in the mission breifing.

When the mission stops loading, don't do anything. Just sit there and wait for the enemy planes to come. When the mission is over, your commander will be so impressed he will promote you!
