I will explain in short simple steps how I dealt with FPS drops in theHunter Call of the Wild

FIXED FPS drops in theHunter Call of the Wild

1-11 Guide steps:
1. check updates for Your graphic card.

2. set your game to High pefrormance in Windows settings -> Graphic options

add game "theHunterCotW_F.exe" to High pefrormance - maintaned by graphic card.

3. turn off Xbox Game bar: all additional overall interface in the game should be tunred off.

4. update the game

5.Disable Fullscreen Optimizations
Locate the theHunter Call of the Wild game directory: "theHunterCotW_F.exe"

Select Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab.
Checkmark the ‘Disable Full-Screen Optimizations’ box.
click on the ‘Change high DPI setting’s button.
Checkmark the ‘Override high DPI scaling behavior’ > Select ‘Application’ from the drop-down menu.
Click on Apply and OK

6. Change settings in settings file for the game:
go to settings localisation
e.g.
C:\Users\xxx\Documents\Avalanche Studios\theHunter Call of the Wild\Saves\settings\xxxxxxnumber
open "settings.json" in Notepad

change to 0
"GraphicsHeatHaze": 0

7. Make change to the graphics card settings in Graphic card control panel.

For Nvidia:

Open up Nvidia’s Control Panel > Right-click on the desktop screen.
Click on Nvidia Control Panel > Click on Manage 3D Settings.
Select Program Settings > Find ‘theHunter Call of the Wild’ (or manually add the game if it’s not in the list)

change Frame rate limit to 60 !!
(or try other 120 /144 but be aware game engine is overcharging your hardware for it and it can be the issue)
set:
Monitor Technology Fixed Refresh
Max Frame Rate 60
Power Management: Prefer Maximum Performance
Texture Filtering – Quality: Performance

For AMD:

change to Frame rate limit to 60 for this game !!
Power Management: Prefer Maximum Performance
Texture Filtering – Quality: Performance

8. You can also try to add option run as Administrator:
Select Properties of theHunterCotW_F.exe
go to compatibility tab - select Run this program as administrator - Aplly / ok

9. Turn on game and make suitable changes to the graphic option in Game menu

Try to sett all to medium and start to adjust options form there:
I recomend to turn off volumetric Fog options.
Besides this everything should runn smoothly in 60 FPS without - FPS drops.

10.Additionaly You can set priority to rela time
During game running
open Task Manager -> go to Details tab
set table order by memory
right click theHunterCotW_F.exe set priority to Realtime


11. Restart PC try to run the game with those tweaks.
