How to become strong early v1.2.2
By zeith
Are you having trouble early in the game or just want to get busted early to breeze through the rest of the game? Or you may just be a crazy bastard like me who spent 20 hours in the first zone grinding and finding out the best ways to get strong.

Basic's on how levels work and which class is the best from my perspective.
When you load in, there are two types of exp bars: your main level, which is at the top of the screen, and your profession levels, which can be seen by pressing p.

You can now get your main experience in three ways. 1. questing; 2. killing mobs; 3. leveling professions

Early game, right as you start a new character, questing is the best way to gain the first 3–4 levels, after which professions take over. Killing in-game mobs for exp is by far the slowest leveling method.

Now the higher the profession level, the more exp you get, which also leads me to the best class to pick, which is human, because they get TRIPLE exp from profession level ups, which means you will reach level 35+ much faster than any other class and get the strongest talents.

If you want to min-max and simply grind 3x more exp, choosing a wild elf, Orc, or lizardman is likely your best option. I will admit my first character was a wild elf, and I loved the sprint cost reduction early in the game, but then again, I don't mind grinding hard.

Main class exp from profession levels on a wild elf these will be 3x on a human.
1-4xp
10-20xp
20-70xp
30-120xp
40-380xp
50-1400xp
60-2500xp
70-9500xp
80-28000xp
90-50,000xp
100-200,000xp
110-400,000xp
120-600,000xp
130-800,000xp
140-1,000,000xp
150-1,200,000xp
150+-200,000

To put it into perspective
level 5-6 is 2,500xp,
level 10-11 is 12,500xp
level 35–36 takes 12 million exp
getting a single skill up to 110 pretty much gets you endgame in terms of levels and this can be done easily in zone 1.

all natural free range traders.
one of the most important things to know about this game is when your exploring map tiles you can find traders roaming the wild in predetermined zones and you can kidnap them to your base to feed you supplies that restocks every two days.

WARNING save before you go to a map if nothing spawns within a few screen lengths it is most likely bugged and you need to restart the game if you save after it is bugged you will lose out on those units this bug screwed me over twice when I was making this guide so save often my friends.

Now I have taken a little bit of time to make a quick image to show where you can find a good starting selection of guys for your main base.

The gold square is a map that has ruined chests near the surface with some nice starting loot.

Trader stock
wild traders have a stock that is based on your trading profession level and updates on milestones 1-15-30-45-60 so leveling trading is a must to get end game mats early.

level 1 trading.

Level 45 trading.

Leveling Trading quickly so that you can get started.
Trading exp is gained by the amount of gold spent, so the more money you pay and get, the faster it will level, and the number one method I found for early money was ALCHEMY.

To get some starter cash you can sell a few of the 500 exp tickets you find off loot or in chests just make sure not to sell any perma stat tickets.

The minor healing potions are valued at 5 silver, while the lesser elixirs are valued at 50 silver. I was able to get to 45 trading extremely fast by buying sand from a miner, making vials, then buying the potion supplies from hunters and herbalists, and then selling the potions for a massive profit.

And if you just want trading levels, you can then buy half the potions you just sold back for more trading experience and resell them again. Just make sure you have 1-2 gold to spare so you can buy the basic supplies again.

Here is an example of what my base looks like. Credit goes to Jean, who made a tips guide. I mostly followed his example when building my base. You do start to have some space issues in the endgame, but it works amazing until your stats start hitting the 80s.
Leveling time 45 trading required.
All right it is finally time to speed level your character up so you can blitz most of the game.

the main skill we will be using is Milling by making black dye which gives 1.25m exp per craft and guess what at level 45 trading the farmer sells everything you need to make it!

to make black dye you need 1 Brown dye and 1 gray dye which is made with- (1 Red dye, 1 Green dye, and 1 Blue dye) so while your leveling milling up save all those dyes.

Since your buying out the farmers everytime they restock you can also level your cooking up to 100+ the best exp food I found is Brushchetta which gives 500k exp and you can make it with a level 45 trade skill.

Another skill you can level while doing this is tailoring because you can use the dye to make banners to a ton of exp at 92 with simply a burlap cloth and black dye you can make a 750k exp tailoring recipe.

so in short the three main things you want to be making for exp are 1.black dye 2.Brushchetta 3.Black burlap Banner.
Now go out and murder the map.
If you followed the guide you will most likely be in the level 30-35 range with full mithril gear in the first zone literally nothing will be a match for you for at least 4 zones.

If you want to be stronger boost to 60-75-90 trading for even more op gear.

and if your as crazy as me grind the hell out of end game while playing another game.

So when you talk to a merchant on an unprotected tile, you can tell them to follow you and then tell them to stay there.

You might have mentioned Gray Dye is an 80 skill requirement. It's taking my poor Goblin forever to grind up the necessary Milling needed to make it.

Thankfully, he earns 200% trading experience, but I don't know of a reliable place to farm Leeks for making White Dye now.
