Helping Hand Shelter

The Helping Hand Homeless Shelter is one of Ascot's newer homeless shelters, established around 2016. The shelter was praised for its excellent quality and facilities, particularly then as other shelters with bigger facilities didn't have the same or even had worse quality. It is currently undergoing slight renovation as the building has started to slowly decay over time. All of its inhabitants have been temporarily moved to a different shelter.

The first map I've made that didn't last an entire month but rather 2 weeks. Spiderman was the reason I made this map. I know it sounds dumb but hear me out. I was watching videos of Spiderman Remastered and everynow and then come across portions of this place called the F.E.A.S.T Center, and I thought "hey, that would make for a great map. no one else has done it."

So here it is.

This map was originally developed with a custom VRAD courtesy of Slammin' Source Tools which has several new features including baked ambient occlusion. However, Facepunch decided to update Garry's Mod (the June 2023 update) the day after I started working on this with their own new graphical features, completely breaking compatibility with Slammin's VRAD.exe. However the new update came with phong shading for brushes and lightmaps on props which I HAD to implement in my map. So technically this might be one of the first maps to utilize this.

There are AI nodes.
And no, you don't need to mount games for textures to display properly. Because having to buy a game to display a couple of models and decals is the stupidest thing ever.
