I did some paint stripping and was able to save most of my old minis.

Sorry mate I just saw your message. To answer your questions:
Yes I did paint this.
For the gun I went with a base layer of red, inked it with a dark red ink (or nuln oil even, can't remember for sure, sry) and then highlighted the edges with a brighter red.
I used pigment powder to achieve the dusty red look on his boots. The rest is just painted in damage and chipping.
I think I painted this one in one piece but I often do sub-assembly and paint part seperate on bigger models.

Did you use dry brushing on the gun with the red?
the gritty look around the boots is neat, how you do that?
Did you paint it all as one piece or did you paint each part separate?
