Introduction
I started playing Dreamwild a while ago and noticed a lack of a wiki on the game online.
I read the steam guides made by the amazing people in the community and it inspired me to make my own.

I do not mean to take away from any of the guides before this one. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them! make sure to check out the guides below.

this is my first guide so idk what im doing but im doing a lot of it.
Would love to hear about something you've noticed that I haven't included like weapon spawns.

Decided to publish this Guide before it was 100% done because of the summer sale bringing in new players.

Currently trying to get pictures and enemy health/damage/Gubbins from the end game.

I am also planning on making a video version of this guide.

hope I could help you. : )
Previous Guides
There are three guides i followed while i played this game. They inspired me to start writing down as much info as i could.
I do not want to take away from the hard work these people put into making their guides so please check them out!
thank you all for helping me beat the game : )

Things i leave out my this guide will more than likely be found in these other ones!
Basics
I highly recommend playing the Tutorial before starting the game. It will teach you the movement mechanics and other basics that I leave out of this guide.
There are also a few guides with videos that go into depth about the movement.
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2896716733

First and foremost, this game is a rougelike.
This means all items, score, and Gubbins (unless stored in the bank) will reset when you die.
You will restart from the beginning with all progress lost aside from tomes and Gubbins stored in the bank.

Your HUD displays your health in the top left

you can shoot projectiles when you have 5 or more health.
Projectiles deal half damage. Direct hits with the sword will deal double your projectile damage. The base damage is 20 for direct hit, and 10 for projectile hit.

The top right shows your score and Gubbin count.

Score increases with time, the longer you play, the higher the score.
Your Personal Best will be in smaller numbers under your current Gubbin count.

Gubbins are dropped by enemies and will slightly magnetise to the player for easier collection.
There are different colours of Gubbins, Red/pink being 1, blue/cyan being 2.
Any Gubbin you collect will restore 1 hp. Getting a blue Gubbin will only restore 1 health.

There is an option to enable a Speedometer in the bottom right of the screen.

This will show your current speed. I recommend enabling this.

Castle
The castle is the Nexus of Dreamwild.
There are only a couple things to go over about the castle.
You can talk with any npc you see in this castle, I chose to not include one for you to find.

You will spawn in this beautiful pre-rendered surreal castle upon entering an orb portal.

The exit portal is to your left.

The rest of the castle is to the right.

The doorway you see here will take you to a room with a pool.

Click the blue water to heal back all your health.

Going down the stairs will lead you to the store

The doorway here is the store you've seen earlier in the guide.

The doorway seen in the store will bring you to the library

Here you can read tomes about the Arcsprite and the Dreamwild.
You unlock a Tome everytime you pass 3000 points in one run.

Going up the stairs before entering the store will bring you to a giant bell.

You need 2 keys to unlock the bell here. This will lead you into the Deepest Sleep, the final zone.

You can find Keys on Key Platforms.
Store
The store is simple. 4 items to buy with each purchase increasing the cost by 5 Gubbins.
A red "X" will appear when the player has maxed out, or already purchased, the item/upgrade.
There is also a bank that can store 99 Gubbins for your next runs.
I personally prioritise maxing out Damage because you kill things quicker meaning more Gubbins.

The 4 items are;
  • DMG +1
    Increases direct hit damage by 10, and projectile damage by 5.

  • HP +1
    Increases health by 1

  • Potion
    Gives you 5 uses of a potion. the potion effect can be changed by pressing middle mouse.

    Green = A big jump when used. Useful for weapon altars.
    Pink = Gives you 2 health & teleports the player a short distance.
    Blue = Increases the next attack you do by 4x & teleports the player a short distance.

  • Key eye
    Gives you an eye that points in the direction of a Key Platform.
    This eye will spin when there is no key to pick up. The eye will not spin after picking up a key until you reload the area.

    Example of which way the eye points, the eye is LOOKING in the direction the key is.

    Eye spinning after key has been obtained and the area has been reloaded.
Weapons
Weapons are found on weapon altars. There is a chance to have two weapon altars on any given stage. Note that not all weapons can spawn in every zone.

there are 5 weapons in the game;
  • Grappling Hook

    The Grappling Hook is very useful in the first stage given the abundant pillars.
    It also helps in Carstinella for escaping Death Pits (more on that later).
    The range is about 150 meters.
    Spawns in Scourage Plains & Sunken Grounds

  • Staff

    The staff shoots a large AOE projectile that can deal 20 DMG to multiple enemies at once
    Spawns in Scourage Plains & Glacial Warsong.

  • Skull

    This weapon does an area of effect attack that deals 40 damage unaware if its dependent on attack lvl (stat given at max atk lvl). It will deal 2 damage to the player upon use.
    Spawns in Scourage Plains & Glacial Warsong.
    Thank you Shrom for the information on the skull!

  • Air Compressor

    The air compressor is the most useful weapon in my opinion. Hold left mouse to charge and let go to send a blast of air infront of you, propelling you backwards. I HIGHLY recommend using this item if beating the game is your goal.
    Spawns in Carstinella & Sunken Grounds.

  • Fishing rod
    The fishing rod is used to, you guessed it, catch fish.
    https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2916125615
    This guide explains it well.
    Spawns in Glacial Warsong & Carstinella

SCOURGE PLAINS

The first area is a desert like environment with pillars and mushrooms of varying sizes.
These mushrooms can be used like bounce pads to gain speed or bounce up to weapon altars easier.
Three enemies are found here;

  • Horus Eye

    Has 20 health. Flies at you faster the further you are from it.
    Deals 1 damage. Gives 1 gubbin.

  • Birthing bird

    Has 30 health. Flies like its drunk and shoots projectiles at you.
    deals 1 damage. Gives 1 Gubbin.

  • Cage Ogre

    Has 50 health. Runs at you like a bull.
    Deals 2 damage. Gives 1 gubbin

Portals
There are portals to the Sunken Grounds area and Glacial Warsong area here.

Sunken Grounds portal

Glacial Warsong portal
SUNKEN GROUNDS

This area is quite open with square structures and tree root like arches. There are also pools of water that slow your moment by a notable amount, be cautious when in water!
This zone is a great place to farm Gubbins given the open environment and relatively easy to deal with enemies.
Three enemies are found here;
  • Video Swimmer

    Has 60 health. swims through the sky.
    Deals 1 damage. Gives 1 gubbin.

  • Computing Trilo

    Has 50 health. runs & jumps at you.
    Deals 1 damage. Gives 1 gubbin

  • Radio Ammonite
Has 50 health. Flies above you & summons down lightning.
Deals 2 damage. Gives 2 gubbins.

Portals
Pink = Glacial Warsong
Orange = Carstinella
Greyish = Scourage Plains
Working on getting pictures of the portals for the guide.
GLACIAL WARSONG

This area has rougher terrain with look out towers and pools of ice. These pools are smaller than the sunken grounds but they still slow your movemeny.

Three enemies are found here;
  • Horned Shadow

    Has 30 health. Flies at you & explodes.
    Deals 3 damage. Gives 1 Gubbin.

  • Gungus Howler

    Has 60 health. runs & shoots ring projectiles.
    Deals 2 damage. Gives 2 Gubbins.

  • Mephisto Eye

    Has 60 health. Flies above you & shoots flaming projectile.
    Deals 2 damage. Gives 2 Gubbins.

Portals
Orange = Carstinella
Blue = Sunken Ground
Greyish = Scourage Plains
CARSTINELLA

This area is by far the most dangerous. Spend as little time here as possible. The terrain is hard to navigate as there are deep pits with steep walls, i call them death pits. These pits are meant to trap the player so enemies can catch up to them. Try your best to avoid the death pits!

If you do get caught in one, the developer has included pipes sticking out of the walls. Using the grappling hook on the pipes will help you fling yourself out of the death pit!

Three enemies are found here:
  • Chuckler

    I recommend avoiding them altogether. The risk most often outweighs the reward.
    Has 4 spikes that each have 10 health. Only the spikes can take damage.
    Flies behind you trying to limit your escape, almost like they herd you.
    Deals 2 damage. Gives 2 Gubbins.

  • Stepper

    Has 50 health. Runs at you like a bull.
    Deals 2 damage. Gives 2 Gubbins.

  • Glau Bouncer

    Has 40 health. Bounces towards you.
    Deals 1 damage. Gives 2 Gubbins.

Portals
Pink = Glacial Warsong
Blue = Sunken Grounds
Greyish = Scourage Plains

Sometimes these portals are hard to make sense of, im working on getting good pictures for this guide.
Up on Top Achievement
A Quick video on how to get the "up on top" achievement in the tutorial area.

DEEPEST SLEEP
Deepest sleep is the final zone of the game.
i am currently working on getting screenshots and information on damage, health, and rewards of the enemies here. i decided to upload this guide early to potentially help a confused player get to this point. It is difficult to get this information because i use base damage to gauge HP of enemies so it may take a while.
thank you for being patient!

Refer to the guides linked at the start of this one for information on this zone.

haha fair. I used to play this game for hours just surfing around. the dev doesnt seem like they really focus on this game anymore after psychopomp but its not the end of the world. thank you for checking out my guide i really appreciate it!
razorstargazer 26 Feb @ 4:17am
I found this game coming over from Psychopomp, enjoyed that game so I thought i'd enjoy this one, I ended up finding the most confusing game I have ever played or seen. I spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to even get to the hub or progress with zero luck. I'm still completely stumped on what to do lol. I can't even tell if this game has an end or a goal, what is the point of anything im doing XD

i beat the game without discovering there were other weapons and tools :[

dont know if its stated but it was weird to obtain, the cutoff achievement is from spamming any item in the shop real fast ("any" item, realistically damage and health), and regarding that of the air compressor it's best movement combo is to aim down, there does seem to be a hard limit on how much force it can exert but imo that'd be better found via dissecting the game as compared to testing in game, and with spoilers being a thing the last area precedes the final boss which has two stages in their own separate environments

I have created a fandom site wiki page for the game and was wondering if its okay if I take info from this guide to post there. Amazing explanation!

Thanks for sharing the info about the skull! i added what you mentioned and credited you in the guide. i appreciate you contributing and checking back on the guide!
mawshrum 10 Jun, 2024 @ 10:18pm
also the tome books achievement are dependent on your death and you checking them, when you die the book is created, you wont get the achievement until you walk into the room
mawshrum 10 Jun, 2024 @ 9:56pm
regarding the skull; it does an aoe that does 40 damage i think (unaware if its dependent on attack (for ref i was at max) it takes 2 health to use, it can kill you

The area shrom is referring to is for future releases.
