Where do get from?
You can get the mods from various mod sites.
The recommended and trusted sites, are:
https://gamebanana.com
https://moddb.com
How to unzip?
To unzip zip, or rar files, You need to have Winzip, or WinRAR.
(any unzipping apps can be used, but those are the most famous ones.)

When you have downloaded the file, you have to open it.
Your unzipping app should appear.


That is it for unzipping.
How to make the mod work?
To make the mod work you have to extract the mod folder to
C:\Program Files (x86)/Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life

After you have extrcated your mod, You gotta restart steam.

After you restarted it, go to library, and search the name of your mod.
If there is something hidden press the plus on it.

@toby7083 no, its just a different path. put the files in the half life directory you have.

I've been looking for someplace to ask this and figured i'd ask here. I've been installing mods for a while now and on all the guides i find it says "C:\Program Files (x86)/Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life." Meanwhile my half life file is in "C:\Users\Toby\New folder\steamapps\common." Did i do something wrong at somepoint?

You should also note that some come as .exes that will just do it by default

i thought installing half life mods is gonna make me do some complicated linux like bs things, didnt even know it was like installing hl2 mod thank you.
