Description
General

This mod brings an interaction into the game where you can ask vassals to swear fealty to your heir. Feedback, thoughts, suggestions are greatly appreciated. Enjoy the mod!

Current Features:
  • Full compatibility with mods and later vanilla updates.

  • Ability to ask vassals to swear fealty to your heir.

  • Does not require any DLC.

Authorized Uses:
Anyone may use or distribute the mod as they please. Credit is not necessary but is appreciated.


Notes:
  • Update as of 28 March 2024: Added a loyalty hook to account for alliances expiring with heir. Also removed heir ruler requirement.
  • Update as of 19 January 2024: Bugfix related to diplomacy and intrigue challenge on recipient decline. Accidentally left out of last update.
  • Update as of 18 January 2024: Small tweaks to address community complaints and suggestions. Schizophrenic heir may no longer swear to themself.
  • Update as of 22 June 2023: New options if/when vassals decline to swear oath of fealty to heir. (If you're having trouble getting the new content to load into your game, unsubscribe & subscribe again to force the update.)
  • Meant to be a base-game variant to project including [grand] activity system (tours & tournaments) - to be possibly released at a later date.
  • Inspired by commentors 'Heshinsi' and 'Aziz1310.' A thank you to them for the inspiration and ideas!

Looks great! I always find myself a bit lacking in the localization / translation department. Additionally, The newest update removes the ruler requirement and gives a loyalty hook as well! I appreciate your help and feedback, it is very helpful!

I appreciate the feedback! In the newest update, I tried to fix something that has been bugging / plaguing the mod, and me! I haven't delved into the legitimacy aspect yet as my intention is to bring a more robust activity variant in the future. However, I am waiting for the new major expansion as I believe there will be significant change along with it, and it may better facilitate the development of the mod. I may very well add legitimacy into the mod, I simply haven't had the time. I hope you are enjoying the mod!

when you update this be sure to add that itll give starting legitimacy to your heir and this mod will be goated

For your information, in my French version, I replaced the alliances with a strong hook predecessor_loyalty_hook of 16 years so that there are never any issues even with a non-ruling heir.

However, in some cases, despite my heir being in charge and of age, the alliance dissolves after a few days, and I don't know why.

The alliance will clear in a couple days if your heir is not a ruler (negotiated alliance). Nevertheless, the latest update has made it a requirement for you heir to be a ruler of some kind (baronies/cities/temples count). I figured it would sort out of the confusion and make it more user-friendly. I hope all is well!

Alliance banners will clear after a couple days if you vassal isn't a ruler, but I believe it comes back when he becomes a ruler. Nevertheless, the latest update put a restriction that your heir must rule something. I figured it would be less confusing and more user-friendly that way.

It should add right into an existing game. However I've not thoroughly tested if it effects achievements. It didn't effect them through quick testing for me but you may want to do your own due diligence with a test save just in case.

I am planning on updating all the mods fairly soon here with small tweaks and such, though this mod works without issue on the current patch. The launcher will simply say it is not on the current version because the file it is getting information from simply has a different version number than the current game patch.

after i ask for fealty and they agree, i do not gain an alliance with them nothing happens
