Leaders and Government:
At the start of the focus tree, players can choose from four different leaders for Sweden, including historical figures such as Axel Pehrsson-Bramstorp and Gösta Bagge. The DLC also introduces the concept of stability and "Hungershield," representing the risk of food shortages and protests. Players must manage stability and the welfare state concept known as "Folkhemmet," which acts as a buffer against strikes but reduces military capabilities.

Industrial Branch:
The industrial branch of the focus tree allows players to choose between left-leaning and right-leaning policies. The left side focuses on internal stability and social-democratic policies, while the right side emphasizes defense industry expansion. Balancing stability and military development is crucial, and players can leverage their ball-bearing trade to support their industrial growth.
Military Branch:

The military branch of the focus tree provides players with options to strengthen their military capabilities. The focus tree is divided into defensive and offensive paths, allowing players to tailor their playstyle. These focuses directly augment the military and are unlocked based on war support. The military branch also includes the Swedish Navy tree, which offers choices between contesting the Baltic Sea with capital ships or focusing on submarines and light surface fleets.
Winter War:
The DLC includes events related to the Winter War between Finland and the Soviet Union. Players can choose to send volunteers to Finland, claim the Åland Islands, or actively get involved in the war. Sweden receives a mission to take Leningrad, and if successful, the Soviet Union may be forced to sign a white peace or face unrest. Sweden and Finland also receive avatars to assist in the war effort.
Democratic Branch:
While historically Sweden did not enter the war, the DLC assumes that players will want to participate in the war in some capacity. The democratic branch of the focus tree allows players to prepare and build up their military, eventually leading to joining the war. Players can train secret police forces and utilize a mobile headquarters called the Per Albin Bus. Sweden also gains access to special forces known as Rangers for sabotage operations.
Nordic Defense Council:

For players seeking a more aggressive approach, the DLC offers the option to form the Nordic Defense Council. This involves tackling threats with the help of other Nordic countries. Players can choose between centralizing or decentralizing the command of the council, affecting member states' ability to defend themselves. The strength of the council grows as more member states join.
Late Game Focuses:

The DLC includes late-game focuses that allow players to continue the campaign after World War II. These focuses tie into late-game technologies, the special forces rework, and dealing with the threat of the iron curtain. It also introduces new advisors, generals, admirals, and 3D models for Sweden.
Resource Redistribution:
During World War II, Germany relied on Swedish iron ore. The DLC addresses the challenge of representing this in the game and the trade algorithm limitations. While the specific mechanics are not described in detail, the DLC may introduce changes to Germany's resource dependency.
