Getting started
The controls of the game are highlighted in the HUD. The game can be played with mouse and keyboard or with controller; it offers full controller support.

You will find yourself in an endless world that is randomly generated where it's possible to move into any direction of the compass.

The continent provides a lot of healing items. These can be used from quick select and they are obtained by destroying trees or bushes. It's good to collect as many as possible for crafting. Sometimes it happens that a rare item like a golden apple is dropped. Heartaples and Beri Berries are a good way to heal up early in the game.

There is chests that can be found while exploring. These contain important items like shards and they are highlighted on the mini map as a square.

Inventory
With TAB the inventory can be opened. Healing items like food can be assigned to the quick select here. There is also a list of all materials collected so far. Materials are required to build decorations or to craft other items like better healing items.

Monsters / Mobs
Most of the creatures found on the continent are hostile. In order to survive, these have to be defeated with sword slashes or by shooting gems. The attack skills do not require ammunition but some skills may have a cooldown.

Watch out for the magenta enemies. These might be the first real problematic monsters. They are almost unbeatable for new players. Try to avoid them and their biomes. To find out more about them, go to >> Strategy <<

Some special mobs like the Ghostreal also take very few to none damage for beginners. Ghostreal can only be defeated with the Ghost Slayer skill. One way to obtain this skill is by finding a Ghostreal as a resident in a dungeon. Another way would be to find a candle with the effect on it. Placing it on your floating island would grant you the skill.

• To find out more about skills, head to >> The Floating Island <<
• For more information about how to rescue a resident, see >> The Dungeons <<

The Floating Island
The Floating Island is the players spawn point and home. This place provides safety as there is no monsters that could attack one. You can always return from your adventures to come back

• to restore your health
• to increase the size of your island
• to decorate your island for buffs
• to craft items
• to join quests and obtain rewards

Customize the Floating Island
The customization of the floating island is a key feature of the game. Placed decorations are adding skills (passive buffs) to the players character. Decorations can be crafted by picked up items that can be obtained by slaying creatures or by exploring the world and dungeons. There will be a variety of decorations that unlock while playing through. The buffs that been given to a decoration are randomized and most likely are attached to the characteristics of the decor item.

The island can be customized by interacting with the crystal in the middle of the fountain. A menu will open up that shows the active skills that are gained by placed decorations and the following options:

• Decorate
• Editing your Island
• Resident Management

➜ Decorate
With this option it is possible to craft and place decorations. There is decorations that just add buffs and others that behave as a farm or a facility. Facilities like the Green Restaurant also require staff. Residents that could be hired can be rescued in Dungeons. The stacked amount of the buffs and its details can be viewed at the fountain.

It's possible to filter for already placed objects in case the player wants to move existing objects to another position. There's also a filter option for not yet placed objects to see decorations that haven't been crafted yet. It is possible to interact with some of the placed decorations;

The Green Restaurant is used to craft bread from wheat. Farms like the Heartaple Orchad do not require staff and provide Heartaples over time that can be collected. Both, bread and heartaples restore a small ammount of HP.

➜ Editing Your Island
The Floating Island is filled with decorations pretty quick so it is important to expand the continent. Ever since the penalty for a death is a loss of crystals, it makes sense to spend these on expanding the size of the floating island. Tiles can be placed and removed easily without a loss of gems in total.

To alter the floor appearance there is the various floors from the different discovered biomes to select from the edit menu. Simply chose the floor that you want and replace a pre-existing one with the new floor or entirely place a new block.

➜ Resident Management
In this option you can see all residents that are currently living on your floating island and their status, if they are on a walk, standing by or working. Residents add passive buffs like decorations when they are on a walk or working in a facility.

⠀⠀

Quest Board
The player can join up to 5 missions here. These are small tasks that can be completed during the exploration. The quests reward the player with items that can be used to craft decorations. It's possible to come back from your adventures at any time to claim the rewards and to add new quests.

There is also an extra cathegory for achievements on the quest board. You will get rewarded for obtaining an achievement aswell but you do not need to join them in the first place, the reward will be unlocked immediately after the achievement got unlocked.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer function can be found at the white gate. Interacting with it opens up a menu with an option to create a new lobby or to join a friends lobby. For more information about the multiplayer, check >> [Multiplayer] Playing with a friend <<

Types of Biomes
There is a total of 10 biomes. All of them have different monsters and items to collect. Some of them cause environmental damage and require skills before they can be entered. The reward of chests found inside the biomes equals the difficulty of the monsters there.

• The Plains
This is one of the biomes where the player might spawn for the first time. It contains yellow monsters which are pretty weak. The landscape is filled with a lot of grass and a few plants and puddles.

• The Forest
Is often found together with the plains as one huge green biome. The forest also contains yellow monsters. The difference is that the forest has denser trees and a darker appereance compared to the plains but they are almost the same.

• The Swamp
This area is not easy to pass because there is a lot of water that slows one down. The Puddle Crosser skill is recommended here. The swamp is the home of cyan monsters which are stronger than the yellow ones. Especially the sharks are very dangerous here.

• The Poison
This is a smaller fragment of the swamp that is filled with a purple liquid that causes the poisoning status effect which continuously deals damage. The dungeons in this area are also flooded by purple puddles. A screenshot of a dungeon can be found in >> The Dungeons <<

• The Desert
The Desert is a biome that contains a lot of sand, cacti and pyramids. A bunch of cyan monsters live here. The desert can be a real deadly place due to the heat damage that is constantly added. It can be crossed at night or with the Heat Resistance Skill. The Heat Resistance Skill can be obtained from decorations such as the fountain.

• The Snowfield
Another terrain that is constantly dealing damage to the player. This time it is freezing damage and it can only be avoided by alot of Cold Resistance. Cold Resistance is obtained from fireplaces or torches placed on the floating island. Another thing that is unique for this place is that the puddles are frozen and slippery. This area has strong mobs like the magenta monsters such as Snowgre.

• The Volcano
This place can only be accessed with a lot of Heat Resistance. There is tons of lava and many dangerous magenta monsters like the lava shark. The volcano is the most dangerous place in this game and it should not be passed without good equipment.

• The Abyss
This biome is often located inbetween 2 extremes in a landscape. The example in the screenshot was between a desert and a snowfield. This area can also be found arround a volcano. The mobs here are pretty weak compared to it's neighbours also there is no damage taken from the environment. This place can be used to fall back and restore health.

• The Sakura Forest
This is the home to a lot of powerful magenta mobs such as the Sakurogre. A lot of cherry blossom trees can be found here along with various japanese decorations. The area does not cause environmental damage, there is only a few exploding chests as traps.

• The Bamboo Forest
This biome is often surrounding the Sakura Forest but also exists on its own. It is pretty simular to the Sakura Forest and there is the same monsters spawning. The major difference is that the Bamboo Forest uses other vegetation that can be used for crafting.

The Dungeons
The dungeons can be found anywhere in the world. They exist in most of the biomes and have different appearances such as abandoned buildings or caves.

The probably easiest way to find those is to travel through the world and to keep an eye on the mini map. A cave symbol will appear on a yet not discovered dungeon.

The dungeons differ in size and environment and the type of the dungeon depends on the biome where it's located. There is lots of different loot that can be found and the dungeons have different types of enemies.

There is ice caves, desert temples, even dungeons that are flooded by poison. They are randomly generated and sometimes behave like a maze that reminds to classic rogue-like titles like the Binding of Isaac.

There is something that all dungeons have in common; they all aim to a final chest that contains loot. In order to get there, most of the dungeons have a final boss room that contains one or more smaller bossmonsters that have to be defeat to open the final reward room.

At the end of every dungeon is the chest with a reward and a teleporter that leads back to the entrance of it. The Chests often contain blueprints for new decorations to increase skills. After the chest has been opened there is no way to return back to the dungeon, so be sure to take everything that you need.

Rescuing a resident
Sometimes there is a cage with a locked mob. These can be located anywhere in the dungeon and it is also possible that there is more than one inside the same dungeon.

Interact with the cage to set the mob free. It will from now on be a resident on your floating island and you can now place it in a facility such as the Green Restaurant or arround your island.

It can now be selected and placed with the option >Resident Management< found in the menu for the floating island customization.

Summon a Boss Monster
There is other fountains that can be found in the world. Once the player is strong enough and collected enough topaz shards, one can start to summon a boss and defeat it. It is important to have some healing items prepared because these monsters are way stronger than normal mobs.

The boss can be spawned by offering the collected shards to the fountain. After interacting with it the boss will appear. Shards can easily be obtained from dungeon chests.

It will take a while to take down the boss. A recommended tactic can be to shoot it and to keep it on distance. Heal up and watch the HP bar and in case minions come close use the sword slashes. After the boss has been defeated it will drop a variety of items together with some key items.

The fountain will remain broken and the boss cannot be summoned a second time on this one. It is possible to spawn the same boss with a higher level on another fountain for another shard offering. Head back to the floating island to receive a new power that was rewarded from the boss.

Go to the crystal at the center of the fountain. Defeating the first boss will unlock a new option to select: Equipping Actions

➜ Equipping Actions
Here you can assign your powers. You can bind up to 4 prefered powers to your keys and use them in combat. There is more powers that are unlockable and they function in different ways. The new power in the example that has been obtained from the boss fight creates a circle shield arround the character that protects the player from receiving damage from projectiles.

The Core Crystals
There is a variety of core crystals that can be collected by defeating the bosses. They differ in color and have to be collected to progress in the story. As you can see in this example, the yellow crystal is unlocked after defeating the first boss.

Strategy
After grinding dungeons for new decorations and residents i have set up a heartaple farm. I focuse all my skills on one healing item rather than 3 different. I recommend to search for the skills that match you the most and to focuse on these.

I use the Green Restaurant to bake bread and combine it with heartaples to receive Apple Cake. Ever since i had a lot of duplicate decorations, I was able to check their skills (which differ from each other) and to stack up the damage on Shot Actions and Sword Actions.

Defeating the Magenta Monsters
The magenta enemies are currently the strongest normal mobs in the game. The player needs to deal a lot of damage to be able to defeat them. They require at least 100 combined levels of Sword Actions / Slayer to receive real damage. With the skills that i use on the upper screenshot it takes 20 seconds up to a minute to kill one of them. (Round about 5-8 damager per hit)

Trophies are a good way to increase the damage against individual monsters. It's possible to stack up damage by looking for decorations with ATK UP and by filling the entire island with them.

Forcing specific drops
The player can scrap unnecessary decorations in the decorate tab at the fountain. The leftovers can be used to get new random decos on the gacha machine. Through backupping the gamefile and drag&drop reloading it is possible to aim for specific decorations with specific buffs. Most of the decor items cannot be found in the gacha machine (such as vegetation) but it still offers a good variety of powerful decorations. The gacha machines differ in appearance and reward.

➜ To find out how to make a backup of your gamefile, head to >> Managing safe files <<

How to farm Diamond Stones
This is a strategy on how to farm Diamond Stones fast; the same strategy can be applied to any other resource that has to be farmed but i chose Diamond Stones for the example because i considered them to be one of the most useful resources later on. (for diamond trophy creation)

At a Green Trade Shop it is possible to convert stones into gold stones. There is one specific trade shop that converts 50 iron ore into 1 gold stone; this one turned out to be the most useful in this example because it is the cheapest one but any of the other ones can also be used.

Avoid converting ice stones because these might be required later on at the Beverage Apparatus for Pink Soda creation. Pink Soda moderately increases the crit chance and is easy to craft, so you might not wanna convert these.

In order to get enough iron ore, the player needs to break a lot of ore deposits. A lot means that players need atleast 1000 ( Version 2.12; 50 * 20 = 1000 ) iron ores to create 1 diamond stone. Keep an eye open for them, they will appear in most of the dungeons and are easy to destroy with the jewel bomb skill.

After collecting a lot of iron ore (few thousands up to ten thousands), it is possible to convert them into gold stones and after that to convert them into diamond stones at a Desert Exchange.

Variety & Rare Drops
There is a huge variety of trees which match to their biomes. There is round trees, pointed trees, large round & pointed trees and they also exist in a snow variant and then there is the pink ones and we haven't even talked about the bushes yet, so yea.

Everything that is destroyable in the world can also be dropped as a decoration. This includes all variations that you can encounter like mossy stones, luminescent flowers or poisonous mushrooms.

You can force a specific drop by constantly looking out for the decoration of your desire and by grinding that one.

The Weeping Cherry Blossom Tree for example is by far my favourite. It was added to the game with the version alpha 0.2.0 and ever since i tried to obtain one of those but either i was out of luck or it was not implemented as a drop yet. With the release of the alpha 0.2.6 i was then able to obtain my first one followed by a second one short after.

Golden Pets
Golden pets are more rare than their normal counterpart and have better passive effects. They can be obtained from the Monster Gatcha Machine but only with a very low chance.
Other than normal gatcha machines, this one requires Friendship Crystals for building and for redeeming. Friendship Crystals are rewarded for some missions.

➜ There is a golden variant for every pet in the game.

Ever since Friendship Crystals are pretty rare in comparison to Empty Crystals, it is recommended to make a backup before trying.

Types of Bosses
There is 6 bosses in the game. (+2 extra bosses) They can be found in different biomes and can be defeated multiple times while exploring. They have to be defeat in order to get all the core crystals. Each one of them will reward a core crystal. Summoning a boss a second time will cause it to be a lvl2, at the third time a lvl3 and so on.

• The Jellord
The Jellord is a huge slime monster. It can be summoned in the plains and the forest. One of it's techniques is to bounce up into the sky and to fall back down with a lot of damage. It can also create a slime rain that causes small minions to spawn. It is pretty slow and easy to dodge.

• The Harpy (Purpuretta)
Purpuretta can be summoned in the swamp. She shoots feathers and has a pretty fast movement. The Power Circle Barrier can be used to evade from her attacks. I recommend to use better healing items such as the Apple Cake to regenerate HP over time. This boss is not that hard but the Skill Puddle Crossing might be useful also take care that you do not run out of healings in the middle of the swamp.

• Pawnubis Undead
This Boss is more complex than the previous two. Pawnubis can be summoned in the desert. It has a sickle for close range and uses magic spheres on distance. Green spheres work like homing missiles, they follow the player up to a certain point. Blue spheres work like a shotgun, it is a wide spread attack. Pawnubis will also spawn an army of minions that use both, melee and bows. It is recommended to summon it at night to avoid getting damage from the environment.

• The Succubi (Rubelia & Sapphelia)
Rubelia and Sapphelia are two succubi that can be summoned in the snowfield. Rubelia, the red succubus, is often pushing and spamming close range attacks what causes the life drain effect while Sapphelia holds her back with long range ice attacks that slow down the player. While the start of the bossfight it is recommended to constantly fall back and use Gem Shots against Rubelia. Fairy Step is almost needed. After she has been defeated her sister is most likely an easy go but take care of her charm attack, it causes confusion. Prepare for a longer battle and watch out that you do not run out of healing items.

• The Ore Golem
The Ore Golem is located in the volcano. This Boss is not as strong as the previous one but it still does a good amount of damage. The Golem can shoot 3 emeralds at once, in a row and spread. It has a strong melee attack but it can easily be dodged. The most dangerous part here is the environment but the damage can be avoided by rapidly leaving the volcano after spawning the Golem and by circling the volcano in the brown area. Sometimes it stands still and only shoots, in this moment it is useful to hide behind a rock and also use shot action.

• Fleurenat
The fleurenat lives in the Cherry Blossom Forest. One of its most used attacks is spreading floral particles that bounce off the walls. They are dodgable with Fairy Step and are not much of a danger in the first place but when the boss starts to create clones of itself, each individual can cast attacks of that kind. This is the point where the forest turns into a bullet hell. Try to evade a lot and get cover behind walls. It is recommended to defeat the mirrored versions of the boss at first because they have less HP and die quickly.

• The Terra Guardian (extra boss)
Not counting as a real boss but still powerful enough to appear in this section, the Terra Guardian is a powerful mob that can be encountered anywhere in the world. It appears as a broken robotic unit but when a player comes close, it starts awakening. The Terra Guardian shoots with rapid fire on the players arround. Try to stay behind objects facing this attack. After some time the Terra Guardian will try to shoot with a more powerful charged laser. A mark on the ground will indicate the attack.

• The Mimic (extra boss)
What appears to be a chest atfirst turns out to be one of the strongest and deadliest monsters in the game. The mimic sprints towards the player to deal significant damange and it is able to withstand most of the knockback that is produced by player attacks. While fighting against it, it is very hard to heal up, especially solo. The best way to kill this monster is by using gem shot and by running and evading. Additionally it is possible to use Jewel Bomb to stun it and knock it back a little. The first time i encountered it was inside a dungeon (volcano, v.2.13) and i was running and dodging in circles. It worked pretty well but i recognized real quick that i only did 1 damage per hit. The mimic is almost invunerable most of the time but patience will pay off.

[Multiplayer] Playing with a friend & changing appereance
The multiplayer can be accessed through the white gate that is located on the floating island. There is an option to create a lobby and every running lobby has a unique code to access it. This code can be shared to a friend so that he/she could enter your world.

Conditions in the multiplayer
The multiplayer is working flawless and all players on a server can go on the adventure or stay on the floating island on will. If you enter another world you will keep the skills and the passive buffs that where selected in your world. It's possible to explore dungeons and the world together and you can watch your friends decorating their island.

• All items that are dropped are shared and identical so that every player gets them (this does not apply for items dropped by bosses)
• Bosses can be fought together. If a friend dies during the boss battle, the person cannot re-enter the battle.
• All treasure chests and residents are shared and the same (see >> The Dungeons <<)

Changing the appereance
To not get confused when playing with a friend and for aesthetic reasons, there is a way to alter the appereance of your character. The color of the cloths can be changed at the Boutique, the hair dye and eyecolor can be changed at the Beauty Salon. There is a variety of other facilities like these. Note: Both, the beauty salon and the botique have a randomized color preset to choose from and they all differ.

With the version alpha 0.2.0 the Hair Salon has been added to the game. It is pretty much like the beauty salon just with the difference that there is a new haircut. The haircut will be added by default but it can also be changed to another haircut and vice versa if the player has a color or haircut preference.

Managing save files
This game is saving automatically and it can easily be quit. It never happened to me that i lost my progress due to corrupt data but it's always reasonable to make backups, especially in games that save automatically. The save files are currently not stored in the steam cloud what makes it hard to play with the same progress on different devices but it's possible to store the files on an external drive.

The save files are locally stored on
C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\YUKIUSAGI Games\Crystarise
and they can easily be dragged and dropped once found

Note:
If you wonder why you could not find the AppData folder, it may be hidden on default. To show hidden folders in Windows, try the following steps:

• Open the Windows File Explorer
• Select View > Options > Change folder and search options
• Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives

State of the game
Please consider that the game is still in early access. The game is not finished and some things may change over the time. Feel free to write a comment about changes or ideas, i am glad about every response.

I figured as much but oh well

Yep, grind for decorations;

the spawn of the guardian is random anywhere in the world (any biome) but the more you discover, the higher the chance of a second encounter gets.

Try for example to farm for rare vegetations like the poison mushroom or the glowing flowers, by only looting them and nothing else. This forces you to explore wide areas in a short time what could lead to the encounter + you will get a lot of your desired decoration.

Other than that, the only way is through discovering, technically anything works aslong you just run into one direction.

any tips for encountering the guardian? Only came across him once and I haven't since, couldn't beat him the first time cause I didn't have enough damage to do more than 1 but I think I'm ready now and yet I cannot find it now.
