The secret code itself.
When you get to the title screen, you'll have to input this code.

regular genesis/mega drive controller:
C, A, Left, Right, A, Start.

XBOX controller:
B, X, Left, Right, A, Start. (assuming there is one)

Once you hear a "Nice!", that means you have entered it correctly.
Level Select
You'll have to highlight START GAME and then enter said code. you may have access to a level select screen after this.
Character check
For this one, just highlight OPTIONS and input the code. your screen should look like this.
