Introduction
Hello, I'm windypanda1! I've played this game for around 1600 hours, and I've made this guide to help people learn more about the game.

Big props to the community for helping me create this guide.
We have a Discord group for Chrono Ark-related discussions, so feel free to drop by.

Chrono Ark Fancord[discord.com]

I upload Chrono Ark runs occasionally on YouTube. I'm planning to re-do all of the team composition videos and put them in this guide when I have enough free time.

Basic Deckbuilding
These builds are optimized for Blood Mist 4 on the True Final Boss route.
If you're going for a Crimson Wilderness clear, you should try to fit in more damage mitigation.
  • Be careful about having too many skills in your deck. Unnecessary skills will only make your
deck worse. Try to keep characters at minimum (5-6) skills unless you have a good reason to go above.

  • The standard use of soulstones is 7 mana, 6 draw, and the rest put on levels.

  • For heals, a general rule of thumb is to have around 4 healing skills in the deck.

Disclaimer: There is no intention of discrediting other playstyles. I am merely providing tips based
on what has worked for me.
------DPS------
Main DPS: The character you're basing your team on.

Support DPS: Complements the Main DPS by offering synergy or covering their weakness.

It is definitely possible for all 4 members of the team to contribute evenly to damage, but almost every efficient deck has a clear Main DPS.
Hein

Attack Power Hein is hard to use effectively in Blood Mist due to HP bloat. However, he can still put in serious work with a Max-HP focused build.

Standard DPS
Fixed Ability: Rage Slash
Core Skills: Merciless Explosion (max 2), Identify Weakness (max 2)
Good Skills: Blood Storm, End of the Line, Tear Up, Rage Slash
Rare Skill: Bloodied Revenge > Rage

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
This build is great at nuking bosses with Identify Weakness + Merciless Explosion combo. You need to be a little patient for the right conditions to appear, and then you can deal ~150 damage. With Bloodied Revenge, that can be pushed up to 300, and even more with crit. His 2-cost skills and Tear Up are good filler attacks that you can use while you wait.

I would consider 2 Merciless Explosion if your team has good ways to set him up, otherwise 1.

Rage Slash is a solid fixed option because it can be used for cheap at 2 cost, or 0 cost at Death's Door. Blood Reflux fixed is an interesting consideration as it allows him to act as a semi-healer while setting his attacks up. I don't prefer it, but try it out to see if you like it.

Recommended Comp

If you want to lead Hein, then Huz is by far the best companion. Her self-damage is necessary to use Hein at his full potential.

This is the standard build-up for self-damage comp. I lead Charon and Huz because they are more integral to the synergy, but Hein definitely makes a good support DPS here.
Trisha

Trisha is a great support DPS in any comp, and can main DPS to decent success.

Support DPS
Fixed Ability: Apply Bandage
Core Skills: Illusion Strike, Mirror Image
Good Skills: Shadow Curtain
Situational: Caught off Guard (CC-heavy comp)
Rare Skill: Depends a lot on composition, but you should probably take someone else's rare

Main DPS
Fixed Ability: Apply Bandage / Illusion Strike
Core Skills: Illusion Strike, Shadow Raid
Good Skills: Mirror Image
Situational: Caught off Guard
Rare Skill: Shadow Dance > Blink Stab = Shadow Illusion

Explanation of Build
Illusion Strike is Trisha's most important skill, as it is a very spammable attack with high attack ratio and Critical keyword. Try to pick up as many of these as possible.

The Support DPS build aims to pick cards that have good general utility and minimal clunkiness so she can blend well into any team. Mirror Image is good for copying your main DPS's damage cards such as Azar's Illusion Flash, Charon's Soul Strike, Helia's Flame Arrow, etc for big damage potential. Apply Bandage is a great fixed because it can provide draw value as well as getting your allies out of imminent death. Shadow Curtain can whiff strong enemy attacks and protect your allies.

The Main DPS build incorporates multiple Shadow Raid into the deck for big crits. Mirror Image is still useful here as it allows Trisha to copy Illusion Strike and/or stack Double Team passive quickly for 0 cost skills.

Try to look for equipment that give critical chance, as Illusion Strike can use it twice as effectively. Around 33% crit is all you'll need for Trisha to land constant crits on the enemies.

Sample Build

Recommended Comp
Trisha will work well in any comp, but here are some notable ones:

Trisha can skyrocket Azar's potential by copying Sword of Infinity or Illusion Flash.

If you're focusing on Trisha's Shadow Raid, Narhan's trauma can make it sting a lot more.
Azar

Near unlimited Ignore Taunt, amazing burst and chip damage.

Main DPS
Fixed Ability: Storming Blade
Core Skills: Sword of Infinity, Illusion Flash
Good Skills: Illusion Sword's Calling, Ascending Slice
Situational: Shining Aura (critical damage equip)
Rare Skill: Dancing Sword > Fantasy > Blade Starfall

Support DPS
Fixed Ability: Storming Blade
Core Skills: Illusion Sword's Calling, Ascending Slice
Good Skills: Sword of Infinity, Illusion Sword: First Scroll
Situational: Shining Aura (critical damage equip)
Rare Skill: Dancing Sword > Fantasy > Blade Starfall

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Sword of Infinity is Azar's most important skill as it can generate the most Illusion Swords and act as setup for most of his skills. Illusion Flash is Azar's nuke card that will be a big source of damage against bosses. Sword of Infinity + Illusion Flash combo is especially useful to power through problematic bosses such as Joker and Time Eater.

However, in non-commital support DPS builds, you may consider a low-cost spam build around Illusion Sword's Calling, Ascending Slice, and Illusion Sword: First Scroll. It is generally most useful to strike a balance between the two so Azar can do both burst and chip damage depending on the situation.

You can definitely go above minimum skill count with Azar.
Basically (minimum skill count) + Sword of Infinity.

Recommended Comp

Azar and Trisha have insane damage potential together and can make quick work of most bosses.

Silverstein's Quick Fire, Blind Fire, and Aim Straight have great synergy with Azar. I commonly refer to this build as "QuickSilver".

Eve, Help! in combination with Illusion Sword can pull big damage seemingly out of thin air.

Not as fun as Azar Sizz but very consistent with how good these two characters are. Huz's Carrot and Stick has good synergy with Illusion Swords.
Charon

The laeder of two different builds: self damage and pain damage.

Self Damage
Fixed Ability: Soul Stigma
Core Skills: Let Me Absorb You!, Soul Stigma
Good Skills: Dark Barrier, Evil Phantasm
Situational: Dark Heal (supplement healing)
Rare Skill: Dark Sanctuary > Dark Blessing > Shadow Pillar (don't pick)

Pain Damage
Fixed Ability: Scatter Darkness
Core Skills: Soul Strike, Focus Encroachment, Scatter Darkness (just 1)
Good Skills: Absorb Soul, Vigil of Darkness
Situational: Dark Heal (supplement healing)
Rare Skill: Shadow Pillar > Dark Blessing > Dark Sanctuary (don't pick)

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
In Self Damage build, Soul Stigma and Let Me Absorb You! are the key cards that are responsible for most of her damage output. The other skills are filler mostly.

In Pain Damage build, use Scatter Darkness and Focus Encroachment to spread pain damage, and use Soul Strike to nuke the enemies. Shadow Pillar will greatly enhance the pace at which the enemies die.

Recommended Comp

Self Damage comp. This build is optimized to abuse Soul Stigma to its maximum potential, and all of the characters here synergize with each other quite well.

Pain debuff comp. You stack a lot of pain debuffs and then go for big hits using Soul Strike or Shadow Pillar. Double cast Shadow Pillar with Drunkenness and vodka upgrade is a lethal combo.

Silverstein

Consistent attacker that can pop off as Main DPS with Quick Fire.

Standard Support DPS
Fixed Ability: Freezing Bomb
Core Skills: N/A
Good Skills: Drum Shot, Grapeshot Blast, Ricochet Shot, Snipe, Rapid Shot, Freezing Bomb
Rare Skill: Blind Fire > Overcharged Shot > Enhanced Mark

QuickSilver
Fixed Ability: Aim Straight
Core Skills: Quick Fire (max 2)
Good Skills: Grapeshot Blast, Rapid Shot, Freezing Bomb
Rare Skill: Blind Fire > Enhanced Mark > Overcharged Shot (Don't take)

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
The Standard Support DPS build focuses on supplementing the team's damage cards.

The QuickSilver build is a more specialized build that focuses on spamming skills and getting off Quick Fire shots for damage and card draw. The optimal team composition differs a little for Blind Fire vs Enhanced Mark, which I will explain in the Recommended Comp section.

Recommended Comp
The Standard Support DPS build can fit into any composition. Below are the recommended setups for the QuickSilver build.

Enhanced Mark build. Try to get the enhanced mark up and then spam as many low cost attacks as possible for maximum damamge. 2 tank + silverstein solo DPS usually works the best.

Blind Fire build. Trisha can spam a lot of skills as well as copy the Quick Fire for 2 shots per skill. She can also potentially get Blink Stab for a lot more skill casts per turn. Blind Fire build works well both as a Main DPS and a Support DPS (w/ Azar).

Johan

Unrivaled consistent damage that quickly racks up and melts bosses. Very easy matchup vs Raza boss thanks to Burning Arrow. He has issues with Ignore Taunt that is fixable with team support.

Fixed Spam
Core Skills: Burning Arrow, Tracking Scope, Rain of Arrows
Good Skills: Lightning Shot, Hook Shot
Situational: Imitate (if deck has a lot of debuff attacks)
Rare Skill: Mirage >> Hell Arrow

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Mirage is the main skill you want and you should try to get it as soon as possible. Burning Arrow and Tracking Scope makes his fixed spam sting a lot more, and Rain of Arrows is his nuke skill for bosses and bulky enemies.

Lightning Shot is a decent filler. You may consider Hook Shot if your team is seriously lacking Ignore Taunt, but it is better to supplement this with party members.

I did not include the Tempest build here because I am not 100% satisfied with its performance, but I will upload it when I find a good setup.

Recommended Comp
Johan is mostly a standalone character, but here are some notable synergies:

Ironheart is great at facilitating Johan's close range spam thanks to his Duel skill which can refresh fixed and refund mana cost. Try to pick 3 of these. Innocent Armor can also extend Mirage duration.

Azar can support Johan well thanks to having plenty of Ignore Taunt. Focus on 1-cost skills mostly and get one or two Sword of Infinity.

This build is focused on using Tempest's discard effects in combination with Ilya's sheathe. Also, put the cost-1 vodka upgrade on Hell Arrow and try double or triple casting it with Drunknenness and Gathering Thunder.
Ilya

Gathering Thunder + Flurry Sheathe can shred bosses with ease. Heavenly Thunder go brr. Frostbite build is weaker now but still decent.

Lightning Build
Fixed Ability: Electric Whirlwind - Flurry
Core Skills: Electric Whirlwind - Flurry (in the deck!), Gathering Thunder
Good Skills: Thunder Burst - Ascension, Thunder Skyfall - Descend
Situational: Lightning Slash - Draw (Flurry is not showing up)
Rare Skill: Heavenly Thunder > Thunderfrost Strike

Note: Having at least 1 Flurry in the deck takes priority, then you can fix the second or third one.

Frost Build
Fixed Ability: Slice the First Snowflake
Core Skills: Frozen Sky Snowy Earth, Blizzard in a Winter Night
Good Skills: Slice the First Snowflake, Drunkenness (double-cast Shadow Pillar / Soul Strike)
Rare Skill: Thunderfrost Strike > Heavenly Thunder

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Ilya's Lightning build focuses on sheating Electric Whirlwind - Flurry with Gathering Thunder for big damage. Thunder Burst - Ascension and Thunder Skyfall - Descend can make it easier to facilitate his Sheathes but you want to look for multiple other sources of Sheathe with vodka skills or Lucy skills. Pick Gathering Thunder depending on your draw power. Pick 1-2 on standard deck, and Pick 3 with mobius or other infinite setup.

For Frostbite build, you just pick and use the blue skills, but you can get a little fancy with Drunkenness to double cast your teammates' nuke skills.

Recommended Comp

Lightning build. Leryn is the best party member to facilitate Ilya's Sheathe with Dragon Curve and Mobius Strip. The best tank here is Ironheart, who can extend Mobius Strip's duration with Innocent Armor and occasionally get a Shield Bash in. Narhan can also work by turbo-boosting Heavenly Thunder's damage with Trauma.

In non-blood mist, you can do just Ilya + Leryn for easy infinite setup.
.

Frost build. Leading Charon and Chain then fishing for Ilya works better according to my experience, but this is a viable start as well.
------Tank------
Lian

She handles enemy actions well, but can be a bit slow.

Standard Tank
Fixed Ability: Protect Ally / Riposte
Core Skills: Stunning Smite
Good Skills: Reprisal, Dropdown Slash, Parrying Tactics
Situational:: Bring it On! (Armor stacking)
Rare Skill: Retribution > Command Combat = Barricade

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Stunning Smite is Lian's most important skill that allows you to consistently stun enemy actions. Dropdown Slash is another parry that allows you to cut the enemy's armor for 3 turns.
Try to use Reprisal to remove stuns or pain debuffs.
Miss Chain

She can fit in any team without trouble though she works best in Pain comp.

Standard Tank
Fixed Ability: Engine Reload
Core Skills: Fire Ground (max 2)
Good Skills: Pursuit, Leave This to Me!, Engine Burner, Bazzuum!
Rare Skill: From Head to Toe > Dismantle Armor = Combined Arms

Pain Comp
Fixed Ability: Engine Reload
Core Skills: Fire Ground, Engine Burner
Good Skills: Pursuit, Leave This to Me!, Playing with Fire, Bazzuum!
Situational: Shred Them All! (Frostbite comp)
Rare Skill: From Head to Toe > Combined Arms > Dismantle Armor

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
You cannot go wrong with most of Miss Chain's skills, but Fire Ground and Engine Burner will net you very consistent value.

You can adjust the amount of pain damage on Miss Chain depending on your synergies, but try not to underinvest in tanking skills or else your team may become squishy.

Recommended Comp

Pain debuff comp.

Miss Chain's Pursuit can help fish for Sword of Infinity / Illusion Flash in the deck.
Phoenix

Amazing Passive but low value skills. Highly useful in a Crimson Wilderness run since you can counter Godo's passive by placing his skill on top.

Standard Tank
Core Skills: Efficient Use of Bread (1 only)
Good Skills: Lecture, Leer, Fiery Wings, First Hit
Situational: Nibble (Self damage)
Rare Skill: Legendary Beak > I'm the Legendary Phoenix! > Nap Time

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Prioritize getting 1 Efficient Use of Bread so you can start stacking bread.

Lecture is Phoenix's most inoffensive filler skill.

Leer can draw aggro to Phoenix as well as trim the deck for the second cycle onwards. Try to get 2 Leer so you can stack 2 of them for Accuracy -100%.

Recommended Comp

Phoenix is a viable tank in Self Damage comp thanks to his unlimited HP and Nibble skill.

This is a Phoenix Kick meme deck. Get the cost-1 vodka upgrade on Phoenix kick and aim to double or triple-cast it with Drunkenness and Gathering Thunder. Trisha is here to copy the Phoenix Kicks as well as getting up Double Team for free Phoenix Kicks.

High Mana Twins + Phoenix is an arguably better way to abuse Phoenix Kick, but you might need to reset on first campfire to land it.
Ironheart

He can nuke enemies with shield bash or ride a win with Once skills.

DPS Carry
Fixed Ability: Shock Wave
Core Skills: Shield Bash, Protective Party Barrier
Good Skills: Frontline Cover, Shock Wave
Situational: Innocent Armor (Mobius strip, Dancing sword, etc)
Rare Skill: Double Armor > Absolute Defense = Shield Charge

Standard Tank
Fixed Ability: Weapon Breaker
Core Skills: Protective Party Barrier
Good Skills: Frontline Cover, Shield Bash, Duel
Situational: Innocent Armor
Rare Skill: Absolute Defense > Shield Charge > Double Armor

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
In any Ironheart build, you want to spam Protective Party Barrier, a fantastic utility skill that never bricks thanks to its draw 1 property.

The DPS Carry build focuses on dishing out heavy damage with Shield Bash and Shock Wave.
The Standard Tank build focuses on staying out of the team's way while providing value with his passive. It is especially a good pick into strong buff users like Leryn with her Mobius Strip so that you can extend the buff duration with Innocent Armor.

Recommended Comp

If you want to run DPS Ironheart, Leryn and Narhan make great supports who can provide a ton of barrier.

You would run double healer from here if you want to focus solely on Ironheart. Sizz is also a good fit since her Hindering Attack can make Shield Bash crit.

A DPS on the last slot can make a more flexible comp so Ironheart isn't under constant pressure to deal damage.

Narhan

Trauma + Paranoia combo can provide stun as well as boost your damage output a lot.
He has good filler skills in Cold-Hearted and Trojan Horse.

Standard Tank
Fixed Ability: Cold-Hearted
Core Skills: Trauma, Paranoia
Good Skills: Cold-Hearted, Trojan Horse
Situational: The Mentalist (Ironheart comp)
Rare Skill: Brain Lock > Stand United = Phantom Pain

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Narhan is used like a utility bot. Cold-Hearted is his main tanking skill that can net you a lot of survivability through battles. Try to make use of the fact that the buff persists between battles so you can use it at the end of one battle to get the effect at the start of another battle.

Trauma is his damage utility skill that can greatly boost the damage output of his crit-oriented allies. Paranoia is his main stun skill that can cut off dangerous enemy actions. Trojan Horse can supplement damage and Ignore Taunt while drawing 1 skill for your teammates.

The Mentalist is a situational pick to stack barrier with Ironheart, but it can also be considered when your team is too squishy.

Recommended Comp

Narhan used to be the best lead for Ironheart comp before Leryn released. He is still the next best thing though so definitely worth picking on 3rd slot.

Narhan's Trauma synergizes particularly well with DPS characters who can crit often.
Momori

Very solid tanking, but sometimes can deal a ton of damage too.

DPS Momori (Become Flat Rare)
Fixed Ability: Loser Detected
Core Skills: Momori Healing, Momori Crash
Good Skills: Momori Clash, Momori Charge
Rare Skill: Become Flat

Super Tank Momori **PICK PAIN SHARING IN BM3**
Fixed Ability: Loser Detected
Core Skills: You Suck Loser, Momori Clash
Good Skills: Momori Healing, Momori Crash, Any Strong Guys Here?
Rare Skill: Become Flat = Momori Defeated...

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
A lot of Momori's power budget is in her Rare skill so make sure you pick one as soon as possible. If you get Become Flat, you can go for a Momori DPS build.

Momori Healing and You Suck Loser are her main tanking skills. Momori Healing can stack Inner desire very quickly for her Rare skills, and You Suck Loser can draw aggro from the enemy team.

Recommended Comp

Huz is the best healer for Momori if you're not using Pain Sharing, since her heals are particularly effective when near Death's Door.

Charon is the best DPS to use alongside Momori. Momori's Inner Desire makes it really easy for Charon to abuse her Self-Damage skills such as Soul Stigma and Let Me Absorb You!

Hein is a good partner for DPS Momori. He can set up big Become Flat damage with his Identify Weakness and get in his own big hits as well.
momori smash

Self Damage comp.

Some play references for Momori:

------Support------
Joey

Decent healing with very accurate stun. Most effective on Pain comp.

Standard Healer
Fixed Ability: Health-Augmenting Patch
Core Skills: Paralyzing Dart (just 1)
Good Skills: Health-Augmenting Patch, Healing Potion, Healing Ray, Healing Vapor
Situational: Chemical Substance (Pain Comp), Chemical Weapon (Azar, Johan)
Rare Skill: Create Potion > Biotic Field > Protecting Gas

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
The healing skills achieve more or less the same thing so it is up to your own preference to choose what heals you want. If your team is struggling to survive, it is usually the tank's fault more than the support's fault.

Make sure to pick 1 Paralyzing Dart especially if your tank has 0 stuns, since it can be very valuable against bosses.

Regeneration effects such as Healing Vapor and Biotic FIeld get significantly stronger with higher Healing Power, so their priority would go up if you have good healing equips.

Recommended Comp

Pain debuff comp.

Self-destructing Healing Drone meme deck.
This comp aims to stack as much buffs as possible and then let the drones rip. Miss Chain is here for Fire Ground which is 8 buffs in a full party, and Pursuit to fish back the drones. Ironheart is here for Overbarrier and Frontline Cover. Narhan is here for Trojan Horse and Cold-Hearted. Trauma + Phantom Pain can turn the drone strikes into AoE.

Pressel

Good healing and deck control, Get her to Lv4 if you can for Prophecy passive.

Standard Healer
Fixed Ability: Blinking Heal
Core Skills: Blinking Heal, Healing Coil
Good Skills: Holy Light, Purifying Barrier, Kill It!
Rare Skill: Celestial Wing > Guardian Angel

DPS Pressel
Fixed Ability: Kill It! / Purifying Barrier
Core Skills: First Class to Heaven (max 2), Adjust Aim
Good Skills: Kill It!
Rare Skill: Celestial Wing > Guardian Angel

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Try to use exchange every turn to make the most out of Celestial Wing.

For the DPS build, try to get 100% critical hit on First Class to Heaven. Since it has critical keyword, you only need 25 additional crit if you have Celestial Wing up.

Recommended Comp

Pressel is a good healer in any comp but also not the best possible healer in any comp. (IMO)

DPS Pressel build. Ilya can use a combination of Drunkenness and Gathering Thunder to allow for double-triple bats, as well as supplementing damage with Flurry sheathe.

Sizz

Sizz solo heal is a bit shaky, make sure your tank gives her plenty of help.

Standard Healer
Fixed Ability: Thread of Life
Core Skills: Thread of Life, Eve, Guard!
Good Skills: Healing Wave, Synchronized Healing, Patch Up, Collect Eve
Situational: Hindering Attack, Incise, Eve, Help! (according to DPS)
Rare Skill: Thread of Fate > Marionette

Azar Utility
Fixed Ability: Eve, Help! (1 in the deck is fine too)
Core Skills: Collect Eve, Eve, Help!
Good Skills: Incise, Healing Wave, Hindering Attack
Rare Skill: Thread of Fate > Marionette

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Thread of Life and Eve, Guard! are Sizz's powerful healing skills that you want to pick if you're using her as solo healer.

For the Azar Utility build, use Eve, Help! and Collect Eve in conjunction to get 3 stacks for minimal mana cost. Try to keep Incise buff up if you can.

Recommended Comp

Azar can take advantage of Eve's damage amplification very easily.

Huz

Queen of chrono ark. Best overall healer due to ease of keeping everyone alive.
She's a bit difficult to learn but very rewarding once you master her.

Standard Healer
Fixed Ability: Whip of Love / Whip of Healing
Core Skills: Whip of Love, Whip of Healing
Good Skills: Life Barrier, Carrot and Stick, This Might Sting, Domination
Rare Skill: Pain Equals Happiness > Punish

DPS Huz
Fixed Ability: Rabbit Doll MVP
Core Skills: Domination, Crack!
Good Skills: Constrict, Rabbit Doll MVP, Life Barrier, Whip of Love
Rare Skill: Punish >> Others (don’t pick)

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Whip of Love and Whip of Healing are her main healing skills that you want to focus on.

Use Life Barrier or other self-damage skills to trigger healing wounds in advance. This lets you capitalize on the overheal while skipping the pain damage.

Recommended Comp

Huz is a centerpiece in Self Damage composition due to her numerous ways to inflict self-damage as well as her heals being particularly efficient on low HP characters.

Even outside of Self Damage, Huz's general power level is a cut above other healers, so she works great as a generalist healer.

DPS Huz build. Identify Weakness is one of the best ways to amplify Punish damage. Also, Hein can spread weakening debuffs that Huz can capitalize on with Rabbit Doll MVP and Crack!.
Leryn

Barrier and Discard synergies make her the best support for Ironheart and Ilya.

Standard Healer
Fixed Ability: Regeneration Line
Core Skills: Regeneration Line
Good Skills: Healing Arc, Healing Circle, Protection Curve
Situational: Dragon Curve (Mobius Infinite), Triple Reaction Formula (Ironheart, Self Damage)
Rare Skill: Mobius Strip > Hemisphere

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Regeneration Line is her main healing skill that can fetch her allies out of Death's Door.

In Mobius Strip build, Dragon Curve becomes a very important skill to facilitate her infinite.

Recommended Comp

Dragon Curve and Mobius Strip can help facilitate Ilya's Sheathes.

"This man... He's using my precious barriers as attacks..."
"Hahaha!"
------Other------
Helia

A hot DPS with 2 distinct builds.

Solar Flame
Fixed Ability: Sun Ring
Core Skills: Prominence, Combustion
Good Skills: Sun Ring, Solar Wind
Rare Skill: Solar Flare > Tears of the Sun = Solar Storm

High Mana
Fixed Ability: Dark Sun / Blessing of the Stars
Core Skills: Flame Arrow
Good Skills: Flame Eruption, Solarbolt, Blessing of the Stars, Dark Sun
Rare Skill: Solar Storm > Tears of the Sun > Solar Flare (don't use)

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
For the Solar Flame build, prioritize getting 1 Sun Ring as fixed ability, and then fill her deck with other Solar Flame skills. If you have Sun Flare, you want to pick more Solar Wind to keep up 3 stacks.

For the High Mana build, try to set up with Flame Eruption / Blessing of the Stars then abuse it with Solar Storm, Flame Arrow, and her other high mana skills. It is generally better to wait for a good turn to unleash your combo rather than try to do something every turn.

Recommended Comp

Solar Flame comp. Solar Flame + Lunar Curtain lacks damage but has way too much healing, so Ironheart can easily take advantage of all the excess healing.

High Mana comp. Azar can fill in some damage while Helia is building up her skills, and Helia can easily abuse Storming Blades in the deck for big damage. Blade Starfall is also particularly potent in this comp.

Selena

A cool support with 2 builds depending on what Helia is doing.

Lunar Curtain
Fixed Ability: Basic Heal / Lunar Ring
Core Skills: Star Breeze, Bloody Moon, Healing Stars
Good Skills: Radiant Moonlight, Lunar Ring
Rare Skill: Lunar Mare (good as fixed ability) > Tears of the Moon > Eclipse

High Mana
Fixed Ability: Power of the Full Moon
Core Skills: Power of the Full Moon
Good Skills: Rising Star, Blessing of the Moon, Radiant Moonlight
Rare Skill: Eclipse > Tears of the Moon > Lunar Mare (don't use)

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
For the Lunar Curtain build, focus on Bloody Moon and Lunar Curtain healing skills.

For the High Mana build, Power of the Full Moon becomes her main healing skill, and you can use the other high mana cards to set up Helia.
Lucy (DPS)

Lucy's role is to extend your turn very far (if not outright infinite) and get a big hit in the end.

Fixed Ability: Acceleration Step
Core Skills: Hit and Step, Acceleration Step
Good Skills: Respite, Blitz Step, Concentrated Blow, Timed Impact

Sample Build

Explanation of Build
Hit and Step, Acceleration Step, and Respite are her turn extenders.
Blitz Step, Concentrated Blow, and Timed Impact are her damage sources.

Recommended Comp

It is much easier to pull long turns with Lucy if you have a Mobius Strip running. Make sure to take the exchange skill upgrades whenever you can.

Alternatively, you can use Blink Stab for draw power.

Tier List
Your mileage may vary. Please watch for fun ^^
Order within tiers doesn't matter.

Conclusion
I will work on adding notes for how to use the characters, as well as playthroughs of each comp.

Please comment if you have any questions.

Thanks for reading!

Thank you very helpful

Solid list, mostly agree.
Pressel deserves at least A+, she is simply almost never a bad choice. One of the best passives to prevent terrible RNG and solid skill kit.

Trish probably also deserves A+. She is tricky to play but she activates setups that otherwise wouldn't be possible.

Ironheart deserves an S. Tanks generally got no love in tier list(for good reason, aside of iron heart and momori everyone is trash that is simply less efficient and aside of marking character as completed/getting relationship - shouldn't ever be taken) and at least one needs to be 'absolute best' and there is no doubt that Ironheart is the one. He is not only the most reliable survival increase but also do some nice burst damages while at it to speed up encounters further.
Momori generally has to choose between either damage or helping team survive.

Phoenix probably deseves C tier. He is more of a burden you play around.

Yooo! Thank you for this guide. Helped me a lot

One other set of synergies I think you may have missed is Lian + Trisha. Heart pierce and Caught off guard both trigger off of the "Taunted" Debuff, so Lian can set up some serious damage using "Bring It On"

i haven't fully read the guide yet but i love the memes

@ Mr Stizblee: When you upgrade Blood Mist to level 3, you have to pick one of two options: either "Pain Sharing" or "Accumulated Pain." This party comp really, really wants you to pick Pain Sharing.
A Bus of Nuns 9 Jun @ 8:54am
Just a few additional comments.

Johan-Sizz was a combination I was surprised didn't show up here. Sizz can fix one of her Eve assist skills like, "Eve Help" skill, apply it to Johan for the Eve Buff, then you can play any 1 cost skill to reset Johan's close range shot. Sizz-Johan seems to be one of his better pairings.

Leryn's-Triple Reaction formula makes her a solid partner for Hein, because she can instantly place him at Death's Door for his conditional skills to activate, while protecting Hein's HP bar with the shield.

I might write it once my school semester is done on 6/20. A bit busy rn..

Hello,
I really like this guide but hopefully you plan on upgrading it. The builds are nice but really need explanation of the builds. It would help alot!
Mr Stizblee 23 May @ 3:07pm
What does "Pick Pain Sharing in BM3" actually mean?
