Description

"At some point in his career, Alaric the Mad devised a new Master Rune, the Master Rune of Ages. This Rune would not only retain and distil the wisdom of each of its wearers, passing it on to those who followed, but give the bearer control of their very destiny. Any who wore it would become master of his fate, and that of his entire race. The rune was a more powerful variant of the Master Rune of Kingship, but such was the power of the rune, no substance could take the strain of bearing it. However, upon finding some Warpstone ore, Alaric was finally able to craft an item bearing this powerful rune. This item was the Nemesis Crown, but then Alaric discovered the crown would not distil the destiny of those that wore it but would instead draw out even the smallest shred of evil intent and transform its wearer into the vessel for all the malice of all those who wore it before. Thus upon realizing his folly, he hid the crown deep beneath the Great Forest of the Empire in The Howling Hills."

The Nemesis Crown is a new Campaign Mechanic shared across 8 factions, in which you'll battle for the control of this powerful artifact across the Old World and the Southlands. Hidden deep within an old mine in the city of Krugenheim, the greatest and most terrible of Alaric's creations lies waiting to be wielded again, its power unleashed to tempt once again due to the recent earthquake that shook the Howling Hills. If you take the city and claim the crown for your own, the other races will not stand idle, and will come after you relentlessly until there is only one contender remaining.

Treehammer's Tribe

Led by the ogre tyrant Vazgrat the Lucky, this tribe is one of the first races to encounter the Crown due to its proximity to their home region. Wielding such power is a sore temptation for Vazgrat and his Treehammers. Weak and hungry, the Crown would surely prevent the ogres from starving. And it would draw enemies, meat for the cooking pot. Vazgrat would be a fool to let such a prize slip through his fingers… and while he is hungry, he is no fool.

Oreon's Camp

In his quest to prevent the powerful artifacts of the world from falling into the wrong hands, word has come to Oreon that the Nemesis Crown is once again upon the surface of the world. He and his company seek to seize it before it's too late. And perhaps, if it ventured homeward with him, the power of the Crown could be used to heal the worldroots of his damaged kingdom…

Zlatlan

Zlatgar, fearsome hunter of the Southlands, has been given a mission by the Slaan. He must retrieve the Crown from the warmbloods to secure and study it. Not that Zlatgar needs much encouragement, for the prospect of worthy foes, ranging far and wide across the continent, is a lure he can ill-resist. And who knows, he may find an ally or two on the hunt for the Crown…

Scabby Eye's Tribe

Nobber Fangadoom's explosive accidents have increased since he learned about the existence of the Crown, even more after his goblin scouts massacred each other for it and lost the precious artifact. He's determined to claim it for himself, and Greenskins from all over the Badlands are flocking to his banner for the promise of a good fight ahead. He will make sure to explode anyone who stands in its way, ally or foe.

Redhorn Tribe

The Butcher of Kalkengard has mobilized his herd near the conflict, eager to participate in the slaughter and carnage that is sure to unfold. The influence of the Crown intensifies the violence and malice of the affected souls, and such effect on the minotaurs of the Redhorn Tribe it is sure to push them to the limits of their fury.

Templehof

Waldakir Rahtep has long sheltered in the hills on the eastern edge of the Empire. But recently, a once-remote hiding place has become full of turmoil, with Greenskins, Beastmen, and even Skaven all passing through. Such frenzy boded either ill or well, and so Waldakir set spies. And then he plotted, for those spies told him the Nemesis Crown had surfaced, and of the power that it contained. Power that could see him made ruler of all vampire-kind. And perhaps more…

The Race for the Crown

Claiming the Crown from Krugenheim or the current holder will paint a target on your back, and armies from all the factions fighting for it will hunt you down. If you manage to hold onto it, as you progress to the different stages, you'll be granted unique rewards different for each race, channelling the Crown's power to overcome your faction’s weaknesses and bolster your strengths.

You'll notice that there are 6 faction leaders competing for the crown while there are 8 factions participating in it. Two other contenders will be joining the race for the Nemesis Crown in the future. One is a doughty warrior, claiming for his people what is rightfully theirs. The other is a shadowy figure backlit by a green glow, eager to fulfil his master’s orders. Stay tuned to the SCM channel in the Modding Den[discord.gg] for the latest news on this.

Required Submods

As this mechanic is built on top of the amazing characters participating in it, you'll need Legendary Characters (and its asset pack) for the characters, and you’ll need Mixer, which enables you to play as them.

IS IT WORK?
NorscanWarlord 3 juin 2024 à 9h07
it still works, just get the temp fix from their discord for the factions
Blood 24 mai 2024 à 3h38
Yeah... think easiest solution is make it into a race for some other Artifact perhaps if not a Settlement like Mordheim/Karak Eight Peaks or some other settlement maybe? Definitely enjoyed this race mechanic.

i mean there's still use for this: e.g. replace the nemesis crown with whatever different powerful artifact is being fought over in the lore

or use this framework to turn it into an actual race for karak eight peaks. since vanilla is still half baked on that
