Colorado Lounge (The Shining)

描述
This is an approximation of the colorado lounge at the Overlook Hotel from the movie "The Shining." The building is as close as I could get it from looking at the film and stills and some online information. The furnishings are whatever I could get easily that looked pretty close or modify to look close. This is still a work in progress.

Finally jumped back into this and the performance is great, as are the custom assets. Particularly enjoyed the music and the twins scene, although you need to fix the trigger for it. https://youtu.be/RTzGbdytF5k

Thank you everyone for the great comments and ideas! I just uploaded a new version of the map with a lot of fixes and improvements. It's playing smooth as glass for me, but let me know if you are seeing performance problems worse than other addons. The one thing that is still malfunctioning sometimes is the background music and a couple of the sound effects. I'm working on it. I'm happy that so many of you are enjoying this fun project!

@Sol That's a big question! I'd be glad to answer- could you narrow it down for me a bit? Any specific aspect of making it that you'd like to know about?

Thanks for this! It's an impressive recreation of Colorado Lounge. Some music would really add to the experience. Although it sounds as though you're working on it. If you haven't already visited, there's an excellent recreation of the Gold Room in VR Chat. They've nailed the music.

@Skummeh Thanks again for that great walk through- funny that you ended up outside! Most of that I already have fixed but haven't uploaded yet. Been struggling with the background music. the NPC sounds are interfering with my custom sounds and I'm not adept enough with source 2 to sort it out in a way I like. I appreciate your comment about this mainly being an environment vs a combat level and the realism is important- but it also will bog performance down to being unplayable if I'm not careful because there is so much complex geometry in furniture and fixtures. I have an idea to take out a lot of my custom furnishings and swap them for built in HLA assets. It will definitely look better but I'm hoping it will play better, too. Hopefully will do a new upload today.
