It's about time we're back, and we couldn't do it any other way than with our most elegant creation yet.

How to enter

The FC-2's only entrance is an elevator on the underside of its nose. The ship is designed to sit flush with any surface it might land on or dock with. You can find button panels just in front of both bottom thruster banks, which will operate the elevator. Once on the platform, another button panel will lift you up into the air lock area. The image reel contains an image with the important locations marked.


Lore

The FC-2 Eris breaks tradition by being completely unarmed. Designed with research and exploration organizations in mind, it excels at long term, self sufficient operations in areas without human, much less hostile presence. Its two main reactors, two backup reactors, 100 batteries and high storage capacity can keep it alive in the coldness of space for years and provide researchers with a comfortable home far from civilization. Crewed by five daring adventurers, the Eris' cryo chambers allow three individuals to enter stasis while a skeleton crew of two pilots the ship to its destination. Board games and alcohol are stocked from the factory to stave off boredom and insanity.

As the name suggests, the FC-2 is not the first ship of its line - only the first to hit the workshop. Its origins actually lie in 2017, with a different manufacturer, Typhoon Industries. Called the Osiris Titan, a corvette-sized multirole ship provided a base for ASY to fuse their style with. What followed was a major rework to its exterior, but still with a uniquely flat bottom, cramped interior and heavy mod-dependence. As the FC-1 Tigris, the design laid dormant for almost six years, until it was dusted off with fresh enthusiasm and expertise. All the mods but one, which gives the ship its striking silhouette, were kicked out, the interior was stripped clean and the central section of the ship was once again reworked to allow for more interior space and account for the missing mods. Essentially an improved evolution of the FC-1, the ship was designated FC-2 Eris and given a new purpose, and is now yours to explore and pilot to your heart's content.
