5 Place Ville Marie, Montreal, is an 18-storey building which completed the Place Ville Marie Complex in 1969.

Place Ville Marie, Montréal was developed as an entire city block by CN Real Estate. It was a phased development. The first to be constructed (1958-63) was the cruciform (cross-shaped) 45-storey tower, commonly called the Royal Bank Building; its grand plaza and lower office buildings, designed by internationally famous US architect I.M. Pei, helped to set new standards for architecture in Canada in the 1960s. It confirmed for Montréal the importance of the below-ground pedestrian walkway system (which had its origins in CN's Central Station). Phase II, consisting of 3 smaller structures, dates 1963-65.

The 5 Place Ville Marie building was built in 1969 completing the project. Originally a 14 storey building 4 further floors were added and the façade updated in 1981 and bringing it to a height of about 68 m. Originally known as the IBM building, the architecture of the original façades is a replica of the computer cards of the time, the location and opening of the building’s windows acting as a reproduction of the punch codes of a computer card. In addition to being a challenge for the structural engineer, the addition of the four new floors was completed without interrupting operations and without inconveniencing the occupants.

This asset exclusively uses Armesto's Spotlight Props Pack for its lighting. If you don't subscribe to it everything will be dark. The interior lights are designed to be on in the day ensuring that the inside is visible enough to give it three-dimensionality.

I've tried to make this asset as realistic as possible and therefore the textures are large. All of the texture elements have been created specifically for this asset in order for full control over the final look.
