Overview

Enable Console Commands

Open game, enter these commands

Comments

Enable Console Commands

Open Library, right click Black Mesa in the game list and select "Properties"

Where it says "Launch Options", enter "-console"

Open game, enter these commands

Load your game, press "~" key to open/close command box.

Enter these two commands:

mat_hdr_level 2
mat_tonemapping_occlusion_use_stencil 1

Hopefully, the game should not be too dark any more!

Also this games gamma is weird - the lower you choose the higher the brightness in game, the higher the slider, the darker the gamma is in game.

mat_hdr_uncapexposure 1 raises black levels. shame you cant put 0.5 as that defaults to 0 :(

I made a permanent overdark fix just search "overdark" and you should find it
