Anytime you enter a combat room, look for the path that has a follower in it and follow that path. Hopefully, if you are able to defeat all creatures guarding it, the follower is yours to take.

This is where the missionary comes in the picture. Send existing followers on a mission to get more followers. Just double check the probability of the follower succeeding before sending them out. Anything > 80% is usually good.

There are 2 places you will find the spidey guy.
One- within the quest/ combat rooms, where you can buy a follower usually at discounted prices.
Two- In the no man's land between your cult and the combat rooms. Time is a factor here, for once you have bought a follower from here, you will need to wait a while before another one is available to sell. However, this can be bypassed. Check the last point (hack).

Occasionally, your existing followers will request you to take some strays in. Accept that.

In my experience, this has worked 90% of the times.

It is much easier if you have already defeated The one who waits. Even if you haven't, this works.
The more times you use the portal to travel, the higher probability Helob has of having a follower to sell.


What that means is:

(A) use the portal to travel to fish/ play knucklebones/ get gold etc


AND/ OR

(B) go on a quest (combat room).


(C) If you have defeated 'The one who waits' the combat room is open to enter with no more quest to be done, so you can just enter 'The Gateway' take a walk- get out.


Also, (D) EVERY TIME you open the game, visit Helob the first thing and most probably there will be a follower tied up.
