A guide to the best Post-Processing settings in The Witcher III that will result in more realistic graphics by getting rid of strange colors in vegetation and grainy graphics without sacrificing performance.

Post-Processing Settings:
  • Motion Blur: OFF
  • Blur: OFF
  • Bloom: ON
  • Sharpen: LOW
  • Ambient Occlusion: HBAO+
  • DoF: OFF
  • Vignetting: OFF
  • Light Shafts: ON
  • Chromatic Aberration: OFF

PS. Remember to restart the game after changing the settings for them to be visible!!

Personally blur looks pretty good just for the combat effects like with aard but I could never like the bloom in tw3, it's too strong. For ambient occlusion HBAO is good for a heavy shadow/ darker witcher 2 type look but if you want brightness and more pop to visuals i'd suggest SSAO instead.

@traxtan You're right disabling chromatic aberration gets rid of those funny colors. Probably during the earlier post-process changes I didn't restart the game, so it seemed to me that it looks better with aberration turned on :D Thanks for being vigilant, I'll change it in the guide.

Turn chromatic aberration off, makes the edges of the image look rainbowy and ugly honestly.
