"Apparently, Xen fauna can take over dead bodies, revive them and make them attack everything around them. Source? My source is that I made it the f*ck up, Gordon. Gordon? Gordon, today we'll be making some soup. Not just any ordinary soup. I'll be teaching you the award-winning Headcrab Jambalaya.
First, in order to make cascade Jambalaya, you're going to fill your pot with two quarts organic vortessence, which is one part canal acid diluted with real vortiguant sauce. Equal parts. This is your broth, and you're going slowly bring it to...*shudders* a boil.
While that's coming to a boil, throw in three headcrab hearts. Either full or diced, based on your preference...? A healthy amount of snark roe, or roughly two teaspoons. That means snark ♥♥♥♥, Gordon.
Next I add a spritz of lemon juice, hm? Two pinches of crushed Xen crystals for spice and texture...Lots of pepper...Haa...Oooh...Oh, and paprika. As for the amount, your guess is as...good as mine. Dried red pepper flakes...This, baby, gonna be hot.
And...and do prepare your anus, hm? For unforseen consequences. And since this is a healthy meal, we need antlion grub juice for...nutritional value. Make sure you've got your headcrab ready, Gordon. Preferably live and debeaked, in case it tries to couple...with your head.".


  • Xenfected, And What Can They Do:
    > Roam round (wow),
    > Run really fast (double wow),
    > After a short while (around 1 minute) they will lay down and start hibernating. They will wake up upon taking damage or hearing danger (or food),
    > Infect enemies (other NPCs and Players but only if they have a model with a valid skeleton, a human skeleton),
    > They can use weapons, but they can't reload. If empty, the weapon will be thrown to the ground,
    > They will drop their weapons if you hit them in their left arm or hit them hard enough so they stumble,
    > They can take fall damage (only when jumping and from a high enough spot),
    > Play a lot of animations:
    - Flinches,
    - Death animations,
    - Alert animations,
    - Slump and raise animations,
    > There is a death cam for players killed by the infection,
    > They can jump and climb,
    > They will use the names of the killed victims in the kill feed.
    > Full support for the Duplicator tool (Adv. Dupe 2 too) and the in-game Saves.
    > [NEW] You can spawn them near ragdolls to force them to take their look.

  • Infection:
    > NPCs and Players hit by the Xenfected can become infected with Xen spores or some sh*t,
    > Infection can be stopped by (can be chosen in the mods menu) either by any heal or only by reaching full health,
    > Infection can stop on its own after some time,
    > Dying to anything while being infected will turn the infected victim,

Unless something is wrong on my end, the mod is broken. Xenfected no longer appear in the Zombies tab.

so ive found two bugs to do with zbase, 1. when the xenfected kill a zbase npc the corpse duplicates leading to him being infected but a ragdoll of him also spawning, 2. when a zbase npc with a zbase weapon gets infected and tries to use it no bullets come out of said weapon
(another suggestion is adding a setting where entities that get hit don't take damage from infection but still turn on death, a way to make this work even better would be to add an infection object to infect an npc or player)
could you add corpse eating? (they just kind of sit around and chew on corpses instead of sleeping (limit to like 3 per corpse))
