Spammer
Hard to miss. Pretty early on into the game you'll have to spam waves in order to move forward against an inflow of waves coming the opposite direction. Just spam to make your way through.

High in the deep
Unmissable. You get the achievement by diving into a deep ocean - like area at the start of one of the late game levels.

Minimalist
While going for the Spammer achievement, don't generally overspam waves throughout your playthrough where it's not needed. Minimalist is granted if you finish the game without generating more than a certain amount of waves (the exact number is unclear but it's easily doable).
Speedrunner

Free to play
When you are in the deep ocean - like area level, at some point you'll come across a big pretty water creature that keeps following you. Whille you are doing the wave platforming, he would generate a wave to help you. Hop onto the creature's waves 3 times to proceed and you'll get the achievement.
Squaring the circle
In the final level, you need to make all three fancy looking fish to follow you before letting them go into a tube. All 3 at the same time.

Have fun wave travelling and making a friend!

thanks for the guide!!! i was only missing free to play and squaring the circle before i looked at this. though i don't want to go through the whole game again for the free to play achievement since there doesn't seem to be a chapter/scene select :/

Little tip for anyone chasing the "Squaring the Circle" achievement.
Complete the game your first time around then on the main menu, click "Continue" and it will restart you in the final area where you're collecting the other 3 fish.
Just swim around and avoid going directly up from the bottom center of the screen.

The achievement should pop once all 3 have been collected.

Thank you for the guide!

It appears the screenshot for Free to Play is a bit misleading, at least in my experience. It seems to be the scene right before the the screenshot where you need to hop on three waves of the creature that are not necessary to take (propel forward with your own waves and go towards the creature as opposed the intended way).
Also, you can edit your save file with a text editor; it is checkpoint 56 where you need to start for this specific achievement.
