Lunarforged Lunar Weapons

Description
ATTENTION: Due to the preposterous 100 mb size limit of mods on the workshop and the equally unfortunate size of detailed texture files, this mod WILL NOT WORK without downloading the Texture pack for it.
I implore anyone interested in the weapons in the screenshots to download the mod textures as described in the ‘Downloading Lunar Texture-Pack’-section. It is a VERY easy process, which then regrettably will have to be repeated if you switch computer (unless you bring your data folder (which you really ought to do)).
The instructions will remain on this page.
Apologies for this inconvenience, but it was the only way to avoid having two .ESP-files, which I’m sure would have caused even more of an uproar.

=== Also on the Skyrim Nexus[www.nexusmods.com], for those who prefer.

------------------------------
Summary:
------------------------------

This mod was made in order to outshine the vastly disappointing vanilla Lunar Weapons.
I chose to make the new Lunar set out of the Iron Weapons, in order for them not to clash with my Skyforged Skyforge Weapons, which uses the steel set. That is the simple explanation for why there are no longer any Lunar Steel Weapons; in exchange though, there is now a whole set, complete with one- AND two-handed weapons.

Each weapon has five tiers, each with unique glowing, purple-ish textures that get increasingly intricate as the weapon improves.
Each tier deals more damage when the moons are out, but has a steeper level requirement [for crafting] than the last (see the table beneath).
(Tier/level req./Lunar dmg.
I/7/5
II/14/10
III/21/15
IV/28/20
V/35/25
This meant that you need to be AT LEAST level 7 in order to craft [or improve] the first tier, and that you can only craft the fifth tier by level 35.
Previously you were able to aquire weapons that dealt a perkless 30 damage [at night] at no more than level eight. This has been nerfed, but in exchange, you can now obtain 43 damage [at night] weapons in the end.
The weapons are still sort of an easter egg or a novelty, but they are quite powerful at night...)

------------------------------
Exactly what it does:
------------------------------

- REPLACES the bland vanilla Lunar Weapons (Iron Sword, Axe and Mace + Steel Sword, Axe and Mace) with new and unique glowing weapons (entire Iron Weapon set). If you already own Lunar weapons, these will not be replaced, but there will be no way of obtaining the original vanilla versions after this mod is installed (besides the console; they are still in the game, simply nowhere to be found).
- REPLACES the regular old forge at the Silent Moons Camp with the Lunar Forge; a custom textured forge for the crafting of these weapons. It only gains its special properties when the moons are out though...
- MAKES All the new weapons craftable at the Lunar Forge with five tiers each, IF you meet the level requirement (Requires the Arcane Blacksmithing perk). Every weapon, regardless of tier, can be improved at the Grindstone (Requires the Arcane Blacksmithing perk). They can also be disenchanted like the vanilla Lunar weapons, and the enchantment can then be applied to other weapons.
- EXCHANGES the old lunar weapons scattered around the Silent Moons Camp with levelled Lunar Iron Weapons.
- GIVES each bandit of the Silent Moons Camp a 2/3rds chance to be armed with a Lunar Iron Weapon, giving the player an extra challenge/reward for finding and clearing the camp.
- CHANGES the green enchantment effect of the Silent Moons Enchant to a purple one. This wont show on the weapons of this mod, but on the ones you enchant with the effect yourself.
- CHANGES the impact effect of the weapons from the magical shield effect to a similar, but purple effect, that matches the weapons.

------------------------------
Downloading Lunar Texture-Pack
------------------------------

If you do not download the texture pack, all weapons added by this mod will show up very oddly coloured.
The forge and all the data will be there, but the weapons will look horrid.
For the sake of your own experience, I suggest Downloading...

Instructions:
1 - Find your Skyrim Data Directory. If you are familiar with mods you know where this is; if not, it is usually C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data (an easy way to find it is right clicking Skyrim in your steam library and selecting ‘Properties’, then heading to the ‘Local Files’-tab, and hitting ‘Browse Local Files’. This should take you to a folder called ‘Skyrim’ and which you should find a folder named ‘Data’; this is the one you’re looking for).
2 - Download the file called ‘Lunarforged Lunar Weapons (Texture Pack)’ on this link[www.nexusmods.com].
Locate the file and press Download Manually.
Save or open it at your leisure.
3 - Extract the files from the archive into your ‘...\Skyrim\Data’-folder.
That’s it. Enjoy (:

------------------------------
Plans:
------------------------------

I would like to add a bow to this sometime. Arrows too maybe. We’ll see...

I would like to make the weapons light up, because of their glow. It would be cool if they could act as a weapon/torch combo, but then I would have to make the feature disable when crouching, so as not to eliminate their use for stealth characters...
I will have to look into the possibilities of this sometime.

------------------------------
Compatibility:
------------------------------

This mod will conflict with any that alters the Lunar Weapons, the Lunar Forge, or Silent Moons Camp.

FAQ:
------------------------------

Q: You say ‘unique’, but these are just re-skinned Iron Weapons?
A: Yes. An artist must adapt to his medium, and I only work in textures, as I have neither the interest, resources, nor stamina to teach myself 3D modelling. I can only make weapons glow so that is what I do.

Q: How did you get the weapons to glow?
A: See this tutorial[skyrim.nexusmods.com] and forum topic[www.loverslab.com] for further help. Retexturing weapons to glow is a very easy [and awesome] thing to do. I was able to make my first glowing weapon within two or three hours, and I’m not really that smart. Give it a go!

Q: I’m not a huge fan of purple; could you make a blue/green/red/orange/some-other-colour version?
A: No. I made this with purple, as I thought it fit the moon-theme quite well. I do not believe I will be adding other colours, as doing so would require a lot of work.

Q: Now we have Lunar Iron Weapons. Will other weapon sets follow?
A: No. I made this to be a complete, matching set, and this is all that it will be. I am abundantly certain that I will not be expanding upon this mod with more weapons, as doing so would require a lot of work.

I have very much an idea how to solve that.
Look at the very top of my mods description .
Hope you have fun.

I installed this and all of the lunarforged weapons are glowing, but not with runes. They're just kinda bright white and look like they aren't loading properly..
any idea how to solve this?

@Doom Guy
Would love to make this more convienient, but the files are on a harddrive in a cave behind a dragon somewher, and I don't have teh time to teach myself modding again, so I'm afraid I don't see it happening...
Really would like to, but it's not feasible at the moment :/

@xXHONCHOXx
I understand your questions as:
1, do you have any other mods that involve crafting?
And 2, Are you planning more?
To your first question, yes, all my mods, in fact, involve crafting in some aspect or other. They can be found here: http://steamproxy.net/profiles/76561198012464076/myworkshopfiles/
To your second question, no, I am not planning to make any more mods for skyrim at the moment.

awww ok i was there during the day and it sucks becuase i have a crap ton of craftable items which also makes it difficult so i was like screw it i'll just ask thanks for the response do you have other craftable mods i enjoy crafting odd but what are you going to do
Graesholt  [créateur] 22 avr. 2016 à 8h20
@xXHONCHOXx
You should be able to find them under Iron, but keep in mind that they can ONLY be forged at the Lunar Forge, and ONLY at night.
The texture pack you choose should not matter, if the steam version fits what you need, then knock yourself out.

what are they listed under like hide , iron ,steel ect. also note that i did not use the nexus mod because the lazyness was real but the weapons still look awesome because they are glowing white which fits into the whole light bringer of the darkness theme so thumbs up

Fine for me. Thums up in rating. Work great, also love the idea with textures. All other mods rate up
Storm_at_Sea 28 janv. 2016 à 5h46
No worries, I decided to pass on using this mod, but I did rate it up since it was a good idea tho. :)
