How To Increase Performance FPS on modern PC windows
To get more fps in Bordeland 2 on new machines in 2023
try to follow my guide:

To get more fps in Bordeland 2 on new machines in 2023 try to follow my guide:
1st
Set in game settings to optimal 50-80 fps
where You like how the game looks like.

set native resolution to your screen
set fullscreen windowed
Framerate: Unlimited


"My" in game settings
Yours could be different, just set up your settings to get 50-70 fps
then follow to next step of this guide :
















































2nd.

- add Borderlands 2 in Windows Settings - Graphics settings - performance preference:
set to High Performance

- set in Nvidia control panel or /AMD settings:

I'm recommending: switch off: G-sync or Free sync off
set monitor technology to fixed refresh rate and set max fps to match your monitor refresh rate
and ofcourse set maximum performance ect:

Change settings in engine and world .ini files

go to: C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config

- Open WillowGame.ini. change values as bellow, save and set as read only.

Disable software PhysX:
Add the following to the end of the file:

bPhysXEnabled=False

Shorter body decay
Find the following lines and set them to these values:

SecondsBeforeConsideringRagdollRemoval=5.0
SecondsBeforeVisibleRagdollRemoval=15.0
SecondsBetweenRagdollRemovalAttempts=1.0
SecondsBeforePhysicsShutsDown=8.0

* save and set as read only

- Open WillowEngine.ini change as bellow, save and set as read only.

Disable software PhysX:
Under [Engine.Engine] add this line:
bDisablePhysXHardwareSupport=True

Disable dynamic shadows:
Find the following line and set it
DynamicShadows=False

Change these lines according to Your GPU video memory size:
[MemoryBudgets]
AnimationMB=5000
AudioMB=5000
CodeMB=5000
LevelObjectsMB=5000
TerrainMB=5000
GameDataMB=5000
MaterialMB=5000
ParticleMB=5000
PhysicsMB=5000
ScaleformMB=5000
ShadersMB=5000
SkelMeshMB=5000
StaticMeshMB=5000
TextureMB=4000
Reduced particles:
Find the following line and set it 512.
MaxParticleResize=512

Find the [SystemSettings] section and change to:
OnlyStreamInTextures=True

* save and set as read only

- Open WillowInput.ini.
Enable the console ctrl + ~ or ctrl + \
Find the [Engine.Console] section and change these values:
ConsoleKey=Tilde
TypeKey=Backslash

I can't seem to run the game after placing the DLL files. The game refuses to launch. I have also tried to set the launch conditions to nolauncher to buy pass the launcher but no luck so far

according to my control panel i have 28gb of gpu memory, does this mean i set all of the settings to 5000, 28000, or just 28 or what? thanks.

DXVK substantially increases FPS in both Borderlands and Borderlands 2. On my machine, the increase was around 200-300%.

I set the memory budget for a gtx 1050 at 2000 (per Nvidia specs) and I run out of memory. tips please

makes sense lol, so if i have a 4 gigs on my GPU do I type 4000 instead of 5000?

now my game says "ran out of video memory" after 5-10 mins of gameplay, how do I fix this?
