Upgrade your gems to infinity for the cost of a grade one gem
By gerheart
It's almost comically simple to blaze through the entire game using this easy keyboard shortcut.

The keyboard shortcut
All you have to do is have a grade one gem in a tower and a grade one gem in your inventory. Hover over the gem in the tower, press and hold the shift key, and then press the b key followed by the u key. Keep alternating between the b and u keys while staying hovered over the gem in the tower and holding shift, and you'll be able to upgrade your gems to infinity for the cost of a grade one gem. You can then also complete every level in endurance mode on max difficulty with no trouble whatsoever.

Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits

Nice bug, thanks for sharing. Good to know, just in case. But for me, I tried it once but I am not inclined to use it as it instantly kills the joy of the journey (level up, improve skills etc.), which is what GemCraft is about.

@DiMono I've come to learn that a G300 gem will be enough even on maxed traits. Monster health, even on giants, will never get any higher than e115, and G300s will carry around e120 damage as long as one of its components is crit, which it always should be in a killgem.

@DiMono I always make a second gem because the fire rate of any gem is capped after a certain point, so a second one doubles your fire power. You don't need to upgrade to level 500, but I like having the damage output to instantly put down anything that comes on screen

Two questions:

1. Why make a second gem when you can just click on the thing to kill it before it steals your gem? You said you were making a second gem specifically because it was coming, and that doesn't make sense to me.

2. I somehow doubt you need a level 500 gem. How many hit points do level 999 monsters actually have?

This is amazing thank you. I have been playing the game fair but when i needed tips or help on the vision maps, apparently there has been an update and all the guides or online help is outdated because different monsters spawn at different times etc.

This makes up for it when you're not having fun on your 20th try on a level and die at the very end every time. Thanks again! :praisesun:

Good guide but missing a vital component: don't put points into anything. Unspent points give you extra mana at the beginning, and as long as you have 1500 or so, you can create a grade 10 gem right at the beginning and dominate.
