Suggested Requirements
  • Squad Leader - Dedicated Supply Truck Driver
  • Engineer - Main Builder
  • Support - Support Builder / Supplies
  • Additional Hammers (Rifleman) / Anti Tank for AT Gun
  • Machine Gunner - Defensive Purposes

Strongly suggested before starting this strategy - Build a set of nodes to increase incoming resources, and a minimum of one supply truck to complete the nodes and begin building defenses.

Choosing Your Location
It is entirely optional for which point to defend, however the two likely main choices would either be the Second or Third Point. Fourth/Fifth are easily ruled out as a massive offensive would be needed which is the opposite intent of this strategy, and the first point is an unlikely choice given majority of maps do not allow supplies from supply trucks to be dropped within the first two sectors, which is where that first point will be.

Easiest is likely the second point, depending on the results from the initial assault in Warfare, your team will either be fighting for control over the middle point or moving to the fourth point. However a failed assault will result in minimal time to setup proper defenses.
Starting Building
With your selected point, you will now need the Engineer to find an ideal starting location, likely facing the direction of the third point, however every game is different.

Engineers should start with a bunker, and some barricades. Lay down a Level 1 Bunker and 2 Barricades on either side of the bunker to allow other teammates more cover. Depending on the situation, it may either be more beneficial to upgrade these all to Level 3 before moving on, or it may be more ideal to start finding locations to place Barbed Wire, additional barricades and Belgian Gates / Roadblocks.

Supports will need to constantly drop supplies when available to continually upgrade the bunker and barricades, as well as assist in building said blueprints. They will also be instrumental in aiding in the building of the blueprints/defenses.

Squad Leader should place a Outpost and Garrison to allow consistent spawn points for the squad and other teammates, and then priority should be driving the supply truck back and forth from the point, to one of the 3 HQ's to resupply. As the Squad Leader does not have a Hammer, they cannot build and this is the best support they can offer, keep in mind ensuring proper spawns anytime they are dismantled or attacked.
Additional Building / Engineer Swaps
Once the first engineer has placed everything possible, it's ideal to have him switch with the support or another squad member to repeat this strategy.

Other very helpful variables would include the commander spawning a secondary supply truck, and having another squad member run constant supplies.

A second defensive squad with an additional engineer would make for faster and larger defenses.

Final Notes
I often hear players complaining about defense, but my friends and I agree that it can be far more fun than offense when done right. Even smaller defensive squads can take down overwhelming forces if you funnel them into friendly MG fire, if you have armor support, or if you blockade nearly every entrance and make getting anywhere near the friendly point, hell on Earth.

This is just a summary of what I typically do and command my fellow squad mates to do during Warfare in Hell Let Loose, and in the best of situations, you'll have upwards of 6 bunkers to cover every entrance and then some, up to 24 barricades, 24 barbed wires making it nearly impossible for enemies to approach the point, and you'll also have mines set up, repair stations for friendly tanks and a massive support effectiveness score!

Anyone else do something similar? Any other advice you would offer to help newer and veteran players alike to amass a successful defense? I'd love to hear it!
