Relay Station

Omschrijving
Warning: Do not pick up items from the two chargers at the end of the level. Doing so will cause an immediate game crash.

Story
You are a lone Resistance member taking it upon themselves to knock out a Combine relay station.

The surrounding area is heavily guarded, so you have snuck around Combine fortifications via freighthopping. Though the station itself is unguarded, you do not expect your actions to continue unnoticed.

Once the relays have been destroyed, you are to escape through a downed security fence nearby the station.

Description
This is a small map created primarily to familiarize myself with mapmaking and the Source 2 toolset. I've never made a map before, so this is my first attempt.

Features
  • Ammo scavenging
  • Basic puzzles from Half-Life: Alyx (no toner puzzles)
  • Intense combat, exclusively with Combine soldiers.
  • Length is perhaps 30 minutes.
  • Music from Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode 1.

Known Issues
  • Crash caused by picking up items from two chargers at the end of the level
  • NPCs can clip through kitchen door
  • Lighting in ending room is a bit off
  • Moving while being teleported to ending room might move you out of the map

I liked the enemy waves. It's just bullshit when map-makers just have enemies appear or place you in nearly impossible situations that you have to figure out by dying over and over to understand the layout. But you did that part well. Thank you.

I liked climbing through the van. Nice!

But the map itself was annoying because you're making me go this way and that way, and it just needed to be a bit more clear about what I needed to do and less crossing the map all the time. I enjoy it more when I'm moving through new sections, rather than back and forth.

Needs more enemies in the waves. Also, I hate that you're forced to use the laser sight, makes it too easy.

Nice work with this one. Performance was pretty unstable on a high end rig. I enjoyed the wave based nature and open cover options, but the NPC cover volumes need some refinement!

Looking forward to what you build next . Keep the combat pressure heavy! :D

@MKULTRA VICTIM There is an obscure bug associated with chargers being given more than one shotgun shell per attachment slot. It will be fixed in the next patch.

Pretty enough. Found myself wanting more and with less predictability. I do hate the impending battle music but that's just me and applies to all maps.
