so u want to rename countries without having to install mods or reloading your game n crap?

then use the guide to do the is

ifrst u wanna pick your country
for this i will use greatest european nation of all times

once u pick aa countri you wanna go into your files like this

[drive letter]:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron IV

next you wanna click this folder called localisation



then go into english locaisation folder (or whatever ur language)

then search in the folder for this guy


then click on it
now you want to control+f and search for your countries tag
for example finlands tag is FIN

then once you found it go to the bottom of its line (where the tag doesnt appaear anymore)

if you cant find your countries tag go to the very bottom of the yml file and do this there
if u found it do this on the bottom of the tags line

[TAG]_MYOWNCUSTOMNAME:0 "enter your desired name here"
[TAG]_MYOWNCUSTOMNAME_DEF:0 "the republic of [enter your desired name here]"

you can add numbers like 12 3 or 4 to make more names
[TAG]_MYOWNCUSTOMNAME2:0 "my other name"

now you close the .yml and save it and go back to ur open game

then press the ~~~ key on your keyboard (it should be right under the escape key)

a console should open up
if u dont know what this is already then go aways!!!

now type into the console "reload loc"
this should freeze your game for a couple seconds
once it unfreezes type into the console "set_cosmetic_tag [TAG] [TAG]_MYOWNCUSTOMNAME

and there u r goes ists donea
