Hello to whatever niche group of people wish to play Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason on the go.
This shouldn't be too lengthy of a guide but I saw some people asking about running this game on Steam Deck, so, here we go.

1. Put your Steam Deck into desktop mode first. You can do this by pressing and holding the power button at the top of the Deck, then press the "desktop mode" tab near the bottom of the listed options.

2. Open Google Chrome and go to this link [www.nvidia.com] to install PhysX.

3. Hit download and wait. Once installed, stow it away in whatever folder you see fit or would like, as it isn't required that you put it in Cryostasis' game folder.

Because I'm a complete and utter bozo, I forgot to add in the compatibility part that might be necessary to, ya know, actually playing the game...
First, go to the little gear icon to the right of the screen on the Cryostasis game page. Then go down to "Properties". Now click on "Compatibility". Fill in the check mark for the option to force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool. Now, underneath that, choose the "Proton Experiemental" compatibility option. Now you should be all set to go gaming Cryostasis on the Deck (ironic considering the subject matter of the game), but for real now. Will provide my own community layout in the future and shall update this guide to recommend it by name once done. And this same solution should also work just fine for anyone playing on a standard desktop PC, just subtract step 1. (And the added in step 4 since your average desktop PC probably won't require compatibility tools)
