This is for creating new characters. Make the first save in the game, after you get off the carriage. Save right after the horse thief gets "an arrow in the knee", (sorry I mean back), and right before you are asked "Who are you?". This will allow you to create a new character, without sitting through the bumpy carriage ride intro. Just be sure not to overwrite the save. For simplicity, I try to keep it as: "Save 001". The time it saves adds up, after you've created 2 or 3 hundred thousand characters. Which you will; this is Skyrim after all.
