You have 4 spawns in project zomboid. For the love of god pick rosewood if you don't want to die.

Step 2: Spawn in

You've spawned in. Congrats! Now time to search for items.

Step 3: gather supplies

Ok now look around the house for some items so you can survive better.

Step 4: go outside and touch grass

Ok now do what a genshin player cannot and go outside and maybe, just maybe, touch some grass.

Step 5: die

HELP
I TRIED TO FOLLOW THIS GUIDE BUT GOT STUCK ON THE LAST STEP

So basically I went outside and tried to run into a hoard of zombies to die, but before I reached them a helicopter landed on the hoard and killed them all. Wierd I though, but I still needed to die so I got in the helicopter hoping it would explode and kill me but then it started flying? Currently 37 miles outside of Ohio and it says the army will nuke the zombies, which is cool but I'm too far away to be killed by the nuke.

I tried jumping out of the helicopter after it took off, that was actually the first thing I tried once I realised that the helicopter wasn't going to crash but it seems like my controls stopped working once I got in the helicopter.

Oh, and theres a list of names rolling down the screen, not sure if that's important. Waht do I do now?! Do I need to start over or can I salvage this run and die? PLEASE HELP!
