The Maze: Humanity is a rogue lite action RPG made for multiplayer or single player adventure. This game gives me strong sci-fi vibes in the world and story it has created.

You and many other have been sucked through a portal into another realm know as the Maze. The Maze is an every changing, and filled with death around every corner. You are spawn into the maze with two random weapons. One melee and one range. These weapons could be anything. I was even given a flash light as a weapon. You have to use these weapons to run the maze with or without friends. You goal, kill anything that moves, find the valve to open the the door to the next level, repeat. Each time you run the maze and kill enemies you will level up and gain credits. You can spend the credits to have better gear spawn into the level for your next maze run.

I only experienced the game on single player, and had a lot of fun. The game was just the right challenge, and had me going back to level up my gear to make in deeper into the maze the next time I played.

The controls and weapon handling felt great in game. I had no problems moving around, picking up items, reloading and aiming the weapons. The combat could use some touching up. The melee weapons felt like they just passed through the enemy and did not feel like contact was made. Also some of the longer melee weapons felt weak in the way they are swung. This made me stick with single handed weapons. Even with these flaws the game still felt good to play.

There is a large variety of enemies to come across in the maze, each unique with their own fighting style. Some time the enemy animations would get a little wonky, but nothing game breaking. The world is broken down into nice size mazes you have to run. The mazes are very tricky and will have you going in circles a few times before you find the right path.

The devs seem to be very active on this game. I have had a ton of updates and patches done to the game since I installed it, showing work is being done on the game to make it better.

Over all this is a nice maze running game out the door and has a good amount of weapons to use and upgrades to keep you grinding. I think this is a good title and can't wait to see what its future holds.

Thinking of getting a Quest 2? The VR world is exciting. Get your 1st game free with a $35 store credit by clicking the link below.
Quest 2 can be purchased from anywhere new. Must be used before turning on Quest 2.
