Always felt it a bit odd that a relatively unassuming man whose main passion in life is protecting small towns from big monsters is going overseas to try and establish a colonial presence in foreign lands. Maybe he just wanted a holiday with his mates and things got out of hand. Perhaps he's actually a counterpart of Gregor MacGregor.
In any case, I usually play him as setting up a small beachhead, eliminating the Vampire Coast and Skeggi then proceeding up the shore of Naggaroth to punch Druchii in the face.

Four skills for the best damn shot in the Empire - and this time, two of them aren't cribbed directly from the regular Huntsman general!
Jungle Warfare means they've got lovely tans and the hang of this not tripping over roots business.
Greater Circle of Protection is better than its corresponding skill for the Huntsman General!
Most Experienced Hunter lets you shoot things farther away both in battle and in campaign!
Armed Supply Trains tries to make War Wagons actually bloody useful in some small fashion, so that one of his DLC units is actually vaguely worth it maybe.
