How to shoot: A comprehensive guide on shooting in Far Cry 5.
By linkarawalker
Hello, my name is Matthew Kenny McCormick, from Matthew Kenny McCormick Studios and Games, and today we will be taking you through a personally curated step-by-step guide on how to shoot in the game Far Cry 5.

Before we do that, however, what is a "Far Cry"? Well, in short, the series began on March 24, 2004, when the German-owned gaming studio Crytek developed the first Far Cry game, affectionately known as Far Cry. The main highlight of the game though being the engine it was developed with. CryEngine. CryEngine was able to create outside scenes with very large render distances, which was a very notable feature compared to what other gaming studios were doing at the time with their engine.

CryEngine was demonstrated as a technology demonstration, or, as shortened, a tech demo at E3, a 1999 under the alias of 'X-Isle: Dinosaur Island' which leaned towards NVIDIA graphics cards in terms of usability and function. The demo let the player explore a tropical jungle-island with dinosaurs, which all around encompassed the true world scale that CryEngine could handle and run at a smooth frame-rate.

Shortly after E3 1999, Crytek made, and secured a deal with NVIDIA to tie X-Isle along with all of the NVIDIA cards as a way of means of benchmarking said cards. At the time, CryEngine was the most sought-out game engine to ever exist, getting countless offers from giant conglomerates of game companies. But, luckily, Ubisoft was able to execute a deal with Crytek to build X-Isle into a full Triple-A title, and obtained publishing rights for said tittle. Which was how Far Cry was developed.

Following Far Crys release, Crytek, wanting to show that CryEngine had other applications besides jungle enviroments, signed a deal in July of 2004 to make and publish a gaming franchise with EA who was a direct competitor for Ubisoft. That franchise became the Crysis series. As Crytek and EA made more games for the Crysis series, CryEngine got even more refined.

So now that you know the history behind Far Cry, here is how to shoot!

Select a gun holding the "Q" key down, and selecting the gun which you would like to use. After that, press the leftmost mouse button on your computer mouse, or trackpad! There we go, you are done!

To aim, hold down the rightmost mouse button on your computer mouse! To aim, AND fire, you must hold down the rightmost mouse button, and then press, or hold the leftmost mouse button to fire!
