With my guide you will be able to successfully play the S.U. and defend against Barbarossa.

Section one will make up the setup (1936)

Section 2 will be invasion prep (1939)

Section 3 will be start of invasion (1941)

Section 4 will be counter attack (end of 1942)

Section 5 will be victory

Section 1
The set up is pretty simple

You want to put infrastructure on Stalingrad, Kiev, Kharkov, Moscow (max it to 100%)

Convert all the mils to civ factories (This will give us a head start with civ greed)
With all the civs you will be making you will have a great pos in 39 when you need to start pumping cas
Set production queue to cas and fighters.
Research industrial shi and planes. Rest is up 2 you

Go down Center focus path (There is no real best order so do it by personal preference)
During the 170 day intervals between certain focuses, use that time to go for agitprop to start getting "we will achieve a high yield" (decreases civ by -5%*really op*) or the 5 year plan (industry focuses).

Section 2 (1939)
So, you are in the year 1939. You have built up a decent amount of civs so you need to start ramping up the military. I suggest you start cutting back on any civs you're making (setting the production queue to any existing production orders to 1 will suffice). With the new amount of mil factories you are pumping, you should focus on getting Fighters and Cas. Position your army by the stalin line(image attached. Its near the dnyper river). Later on you will need to build forts & AA to defend it well. There is a choke point between 2 rivers you need to get a minimum of level 5 forts on it to make sure the Germans don't outflank you. Make sure to also defend Kiev well

As for research, do whatever you want. I messed around and usually you can't f up bad. Just slowly migrate from the industrial spam to infantry defense bonuses and you'll be good. AA research is also not bad. Once again, personal preference.

Once you are done with the purge, you need to do baltic security and ultimatum the baltics into submission. Don't do the claims on Poland focus as by signing the Molotov Ribbentrop pact you can bypass it so use the additional time to do either the airforce focuses as they are quite cool.

Org your armies into army group South, Center and North. This will be useful in Section 4 & 5

(adding this before publishing, in your basic inf div add some support AA. It will drill the German airforce)

Section 3 (1941)
Germans have invaded you.

By now you shoulddd have a lot of fighters and cas (minimum 5k each) and you should of built up lvl 1 forts on the river side and level 5 forts on key choke points. AA should be almost everywhere in your provs.

Germany declared war

I usually scorch if I have remaining PP to ♥♥♥♥ with their supply lines as I strike their logistics so they can't rebuild easily. Once they reach your line, micro manage. Make sure they can't breach you by keeping some divisions behind the line ready to replace active divs. (12-24 divs) and just wait.

The easy part has been done. Do the desperate measures focus and wait for lessons of war. Build tanks and infantry while maintaining production of planes. Get ready for the counter attack.
Section 4 (1942)
Ah, yes. The Germans have lost the Barbarossa spirit.

The time for the counter attack has come.

Start logi striking the enemy and pin down some divions near a week prov. Your goal is to push them out giving you a large enough plot of land to work with. DO NOT BATTLE PLAN YOUR ARMIES, THEY WILL GET SMOKED. Micro manage it little by little. Bring out your tanks once you get a good breakout going. Don't forget to use CAS and fighters to keep drilling them. You could also build a railgun for sh and giggles but that's up 2 you.

You're the USSR. Casualties don't mean ♥♥♥♥, equipment does. Just yeat troops into them if the front doesn't budge until something happens. By 1942 you should have enough factories to keep up with this kind of attacking.

If you are unable to break their lines, wait more and build up more. If the allies start DDaying, don't panic. Wait. Let them drill the Germans. By that point you should be ready to start breaking out and pushing out the pesky invaders. Once you get a push going, Battleplan your armies out the riverline so they can't hold. Once they are pushed back, it's game over. You got it
Section 5. Victory
You pushed them out the riverline, you got them on the run. Move up your CAS and fighters with your army. Set your army's to aggressive and keep pushing. Keep training divisions and yeat them into the front. Upgrade railroad bottlenecks and you should be good.

Once you reach Poland the AI **MIGHT** consolidate. Do the same thing you did in 42, logi strike and push. Once you get past Poland there really isn't anything the German AI can do at that point

Send in your southern army to whoop Rom and Bul while flanking towards Hun and back to Germany.

Army group Center Will push for Berlin and so will Army Group North.

Captured Berlin? Congrats!

You still need to capitulate them so just Battle plan them the rest of the way.

Hope this guide was helpful to anyone who struggled like me
