EpsTweak is a series of small mods that tweak the balance of Civ 6. Rather than put all of them into one hefty package, I've split them into small fragments to allow you to make your own custom rulesets.


This mod changes the balance of Abraham Lincoln. His ability now reads:

+2 Production from domestic Trade Routes, and +1 Trade Route capacity. Cities receive a free Melee unit when they construct a Workshop or Factory. +2 Amenities and+3 Loyalty from Industrial Zones, but-2 Loyalty from Plantations.

Abe's ability is broken only when you abuse the projects that swap coal for oil and vice-versa, since those destroy the previous building and create a new one, which triggers Abe's ability. This tends to mean swarms of Infantry or Line Infantry later in the game.

The primary balancing factor of Abe's ability is that melee units kind of suck. Also, Abe still has to pay for those "free" units and he doesn't receive any bonuses to gold.

Abe definitely felt a little lacking compared to the two Teddy's, so this is an easy pickup for me. I think I prefer BBS' solution of giving him a 1 gold discount on all unit maintenance costs more... but BBS is an entire suite of changes, while yours are piecemeal. Easy choice, that.

I just played it and saw how many Musketmen it generated on just 4 cities. The amount was not okay.

How is Abe's ability broken? It's one of the weakest IMO, like a budget Victoria.

A nice and simple tweak for a fairly broken ability.
