Here it is
So basically, I saw that there are 13 playable stories (the one that are sketched). Go on, count them, I'll wait...
What that could mean
So they probably did this on purpose, 13 is generally a number of bad luck and miss fortune. This could add on to family curse. So maybe this could be taken further? Let me know if you have anything to add. But that is just a small detail that I saw. Have a great day everyone!

Khabedge she is nothing at fault for telling those stories. If you noticed, most of those deaths happened because of negligence of kids and their parents for safety. Ironically, only Edith, Dawn, Edie and Odin didnt tragically died Final destination style because all of them knew what to take from those stories (all tho Dawn found it too late, since she encouraged her two mentally unstable sons to do what ever they wanted). I only see from this that Edith is only one in that whole line that broke that "curse", all tho do to this being a video game, we dont know how much detail about each death she wrote into that book, because if she manage to cram as much into it, her child (if smart enough) could piece thing together and concluded most of those are accident cased by negligence.

@_Code_Master_ Have you ever heard of "The Game?" As in: "You just lost the game?" The game you win by not thinking about it?

If she never left a journal telling him about the curse, he would never have known the curse existed to even be worried about a curse. In your theory, Edith is a monster for informing him about the curse.

To show him that believing in it is what lead to the deaths (Maybe???)

@ _Code_Master_ If she didn't want her son to worry about the curse.... why leave a journal telling every detail about the curse?

+3 without a story

Or is it really only one playable character and different narrators all along? Her son's dropping off flowers from the beginning and she's been carrying him the whole time. So, really, he and this guidebook are what remains of Edith Finch, but we don't know his name. Could be Odin Jr.

I personally thought the end was sweet. I have a theory (That adds somewhat to yours) that the journal was her way of telling her son that he shouldn't worry about the curse, that the deaths happened because they believed in the curse.

It is an interesting detail and it goes in hand with my belief there was no curse.
I think I'll play this again to try to pick up on more little details, I was just let down a bit by the ending. =/

Almost all of the deaths that aren't from mental illness have an angle of "misfortune / bad luck" to them and I never got a "supernatural curse" vibe at all.
