1. Disabling AntiAliasing
The standard anti-aliasing built into the dbd makes the image very blurry and unpleasant to the eye. Disabling anti-aliasing in the game will make the image clear, but in return "mesh" artifacts on hair, grass and other objects will be visible. Follow this step of your choice.
Outdated. Now you can disable AA in game settings.

1. Go to:
AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\Engine.ini
2. Open as text document;
3. Paste the following code at the bottom:
[/script/engine.streamingsettings]
r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0
4. Save the file;
5. Press Right Click on engine.ini -> Features -> Atributes -> Read Only -> Apply
Success!
2. Custom Config
Config is a file with settings that the game uses. Many things cannot be fine-tuned inside the game, so we need to edit the file itself.
Outdated. Changes to the config will not work in the game. You can use the low preset in game settings.

1. Go to:
AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini
2. Open as text document;
3. Change the following params:
[ScalabilityGroups]
sg.ResolutionQuality=0.000000
sg.ViewDistanceQuality=0
sg.AntiAliasingQuality=0
sg.ShadowQuality=0
sg.PostProcessQuality=0
sg.TextureQuality=0
sg.EffectsQuality=0
sg.FoliageQuality=0
sg.ShadingQuality=0
sg.AnimationQuality=0

[/script/deadbydaylight.dbdgameusersettings]
ScreenResolution=100
FullScreen=True
FPSLimit=0
bUseVSync=False
FullscreenMode=0
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=0
PreferredFullscreenMode=0
FrameRateLimit=120.000000

4. Save the file;
5. Press Right Click on GameUserSettings.ini -> Features -> Atributes -> Read Only -> Apply
Success!
3. Launch Parameters
Steam may use unique settings to launch their games. This allows you to use many things, and even replace shaders, which increase fps.

1. Go to your library -> Dead By Daylight -> Right click -> Features -> Launch parameters
2. Paste the following params:
-FULLSCREEN -sm4 -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -lowmemory -malloc = system -high
3. Success!

Other Parameters & Description
-dx12 - starts the game with DirectX 12 (if supported in your PC).
-FULLSCREEN - starts the game in fullscreen mode.
-WINDOWED - starts the game in windowed mode.
-NOHOMEDIR - do not use configs in the "My Documents" folder.
-NOSPLASH - disable the trailer when starting the game (doesn't work now, go to P.S. for actual way).
-NOTEXTURESTREAMING - disable loading of textures of reduced quality, textures of original high quality will be loaded only.
-ONETHREAD - disable multithreading (only one processor core is used).
-USEALLAVAILABLECORES - use all CPU cores.
-lowmemory - the parameter is recommended to use if you have 8 GB RAM or less.
-sm4 - replaces the shaders from dx11 to dx10, some effects are disabled or become visually worse.
-d3d10 - the parameter also starts only dx10, but more roughly than -sm4, which may cause artifacts to appear.
-malloc = system - forces Windows optimization to application.
-high - starts the game with a high priority.
4. Windows Optimization
Windows optimization allows you to additionally mobilize computer resources for a specific process.

1. Go to:
Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\DeadByDaylight\Binaries\Win64\DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping
2. Press right click -> Features -> Сompatibility -> Disable full-screen optimization
3. In the same window press "Change high DPI settings" -> Redefining the high-resolution zoom mode
4. Press "Win" button -> Go to graphics settings -> Turn on the param "Reduce the latency and increase performance"
5. Select the DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping application below -> Parameters -> High performance.
6. Success!
5. Nvidia Control Panel Settings
Nvidia control panel is a software that comes by default with all Nvidia graphics cards. It allows you to fine-tune the graphics driver both for all applications at once, and for each individual application using profiles. An extremely useful thing that can get the maximum FPS of our GPU.

That tips is actual only for nvidia cards.

1. 3D Parameters -> Manage 3D parameters -> Program Settings
2. Browse the DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping.exe
3. Change the settings:
Anisotropic filtration - off
VSync - off
GP OpenGL rendering - your card
Pre-prepared virtual reality footage - 1
Max fps - off
MFAA - off
Streaming optimization - on
Low Latency Mode - off
Power Management Mode - high performance
FXAA - off
Antialiasing Mode - off
Triple buffering - off
Texture Filtering Anisotropic optimization - off
Texture Filtering Quality - high performance
Texture Filtering Negative Deviation - allow
Texture Filtering Trilinear Optimization - on
4. Apply changes
Success!
P. S.
You also can change the resolution in game to get more fps.
Use only 16:9 format, because since 5.6.0 all formats except 16:9 add borders around the edges of the screen.
1. Go to:
AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini
2.Replace the values in:
ResolutionSizeX=
ResolutionSizeY=
3. Save the file.
Do not forget to uncheck "read only" before changing, and then add it again after!

If you have problems with the "death zones" on screen in game or custom resolution just don't works, you can use custom resolution in Nvidia Control Panel, but you'll have to return the standard values in the config:
ResolutionSizeX=1920
ResolutionSizeY=1080
FullscreenMode=1
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=1
PreferredFullscreenMode=1
And erase -FULLSCREEN in the startup parameters.

Disabling startup movie
Outdated. Just dont works on me.
1. Go to:
AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\Game.ini
2. Open as text document;
3. Paste the following code at the bottom:
[/script/movieplayer.movieplayersettings]
bWaitForMoviesToComplete=False
4. Save the file;
5. Press Right Click on game.ini -> Features -> Atributes -> Read Only -> Apply
Success!

To increase the brightness, saturation, etc in game, you can use the ReShade (Many guides exists in YouTube).

Freezes and Stutters
At the moment there is no 100% way to avoid freezes and stutters in dbd, but the framerate limit in RivaTuner partially helped me, try different values at which your framerate graph will be as smooth as possible with stable latency.

About Bans
Discussions about bans have been around for as long as dbd exists, and it's unlikely to ever stop. However, I'm willing to take the liberty of giving a very specific list of things that you may or may NOT get a game ban for.

So, guaranteed ban (nearly lol):
–Any cheat soft (speedhack, instaheal, autodeadhard etc.)
–Replacement .pak files (dlc unlock, skins, etc.)
–Cheating blood points and other currencies
–Rank hack

50/50:
–Cheat configs (no fog, fov 120, transparent textures, etc.)
–Achievements unlock (except for rank achievements unlocking, this is equivalent to a rank hack because it changes the rank in the game)
–Red dot, CrosshairX, etc.
–Reshade, SweetFX

For these things, they will only be banned if someone report you in bhvr support with evidence of your guilt (screen captures, stream recordings, your screenshots etc.)

No ban:
–Regular configs
–Launch parameters
–4:3 resolution (with borders)
–Hotkeys (auto moonwalk, flashlight spamming etc.)
–Monitoring soft (RTSS, ping monitor)

These conclusions are based on the experience of many people, as well as my personal experience over the years. In conclusion, I can give an unique thesis: don't show your screen if your image is very different from the standard one. You won't get a ban directly from Reshade or similar programs as it doesn't interference with game, it's post-processing filters. Moreover, configs, 4:3, etc. are also not interference with game files, so if you dont use cheats, unlockers and do not show the screen, you can be calm.

I hope I was able to help many people who face optimization and other problems in dead by daylight. Good luck and have a nice smooth gameplay!
