First, get some resources, you will be needing stones, rope and stick.
You need to get:
2 stones (can be found in all sort of places in the ground)
1 rope (found in trees)
1 stick (found in the grounds or you can chop a small tree to get one)

After you gathered all the resources combine them all in crafting and you will create an axe
