💭 I always thought it was really cool the way elements are presented in Starbound, making a visual impact on rare weapons, and generating the idea of a strategic choice in combat. However, the special effects of elemental weapons don't seem to be really significant at higher levels, even more so when we only use the weapon with the highest firepower we can find, and leave the element as a mere detail.

Thinking about valuing these choices more, I made small changes so that the elemental effects are really significant when applied to the player and other creatures, encouraging them to think of creative strategies to use these elements, or even defend against them. Elemental weapons, staves and wands have never been more useful, and, while it may need some balance updates, it's a small contribution with a big impact to combat in Starbound! 💭




🪄 Added elemental effects on some skills, weapons and projectiles that should have these effects.
👾 Some creatures modified to cause elemental effects from their special attacks.



🔥 Burning 🔥
⌛ Base effect duration increased from five to eight seconds.
💀 Damage from burns significantly increased.
🛀 Effect now expires when the wearer is in the rain, or wet.

⚡ Electrified ⚡
⌛ Base effect duration increased from five to thirty-two seconds.
💀 Increased lightning bolt damage.
🔋 Added energy consumption for the bearer.

❄️ Frost Slow ❄️
⌛ Base effect duration increased from five to sixteen seconds.
🎿 Ice slow significantly increased.
⚔️ Added reduction in the bearer's attack potential.
🪧 Name changed to make it clearer that the effect is coming from ice.

🦠 Poisoned 🦠
⌛ Base effect duration increased from five to one hundred and twenty seconds.
💀 Decreased damage frequency of poisoning, from one to five seconds.
🛡️ Added slight reduction in wearer armor potential.

these effects need to do a bit more damage imo. its good till the end of the early mid game.

Ahh that's fine I just asked mainly out of curiosity. I like to know so I can plan in advance for things in some cases

Hey ΆccelȘugi⋙ℓ♡ѵè, I wish I could say yes, but the FU files are kinda messy, and it's so constantly updated that I feel like I would need to spend all my time modding that version. Also, FU has armors and other stuff related to those elements which makes me feel like those changes wouldn't be healthy for the FU environment. I'm sorry about that, I know most people loves FU, it's just that the mod don't fit my style (which is more "vanilla-like improved"). I'm glad you liked the changes anyway, thank you very much for the comment! =)

will there perhaps be an additional mod or updated version that enables improvements for FU elements? such as Cosmic, Shadow, and Radiation?

ok so the reason it didnt work was because i was running rpg stats and playing mage, which goes on the stats alone, and tbh i should have thought of that. do not make a patch for it if you dont want to. I just now know why procs werent lasting too long, bc bleed duration, i will take this off for now to get to them SWEET SWEET debuffery

Well, you're with problems with poison and electrified right? I'll put a high priority then, I guess other mods are changing the statuseffects files, maybe. Just a sec =)

i think one of my other subscribed to mods affects debuffs,
can you set this to a snoop dog level high priority? burn is the only thing coming out right for me
