Background
An attractive, middle-aged woman, fond of low-cut dresses made from golden gecko leather, and plagued by constant boredom and distractions, Leslie Anne has the misfortune of being married to one of New Reno's most corrupt men: John Bishop, the head of the Bishop family. Though she relishes the power and influence it brings, it is poor compensation for a loveless marriage and a "family" of thugs, mercs, drug pushers, and assorted slaves. John is an incredibly neglectful husband, preoccupied with accumulating power, and treating Leslie as a trophy wife.

Leslie Anne grew up in Vault City, where she received the finest education in New California, assisted by various memory enhancers used to imprint knowledge directly into the brain. She took one of them as a memento when she left, becoming one of the only women with higher education in New Reno. Her departure from Vault City was not voluntary, and she does not like to reflect on it: She was forced to trade the safety of the city for the glitter of New Reno, and a potential career for a place where women are primarily seen as prostitutes. She is surrounded by wealth, but her intellect and education are wasted. All because of a moment of weakness: She met John and was taken by his roughness, which distinguished him against the blandness of Vault City's denizens. John manipulated her and hooked her on Jet; when the other citizens found out, Leslie's citizenship was revoked and she was kicked out. John was the only one she could turn to... and so she became his wife, eventually realizing that he planned it all.

As such, she hates New Reno, its denizens, the Bishops, and especially John. To her, Reno is a city full of degenerates who can barely remember who they had sex with, let alone hold a conversation beyond sating the most base of instincts. Whatever feelings once existed between her and John quickly disappeared, and their relationship now consists solely of John having drunken sex with her at night, which she considers his "least contemptible quality."

Even motherhood has provided little solace for Leslie: her daughter Angela quickly learned what being a woman meant in New Reno, entering a never-ending spiral of sex, drugs, and violence. Leslie is quite aware of the similarities between her and her daughter, and empathizes.

She is also keenly aware that this experience has thrown Angela's hormonal system out of order, making her hyperfertile. She prefers that her lovers use a condom to prevent pregnancy, but also does not seem to mind having a grandchild. At any rate, she also feels a bit competitive towards her daughter: she does not mind having sex with Angela's lovers, if only to demonstrate how much more experienced she is. Unlike her daughter, Leslie is bisexual and enjoys sex with both men and women.

Sex provides only brief respite: Leslie has no option but to endure the indignity of living in Reno, and hoping that John will perish one day (which, to her, is worth celebrating with large quantities of champagne). Until then, she continues to observe John, admitting with grudging respect that he has an admirable animal cunning in diplomacy, business, and crime. There is also the matter of loyalty: Bishops watch out for their own, and if she left, she would be promptly returned to John. Finally, she does not believe that she has a future outside of New Reno, as the experience of living in Reno taught her to ignore her shrewd intellect and exceptional education.

In reality, she is perfectly capable of filling John's shoes and assuming control of the Bishops, not least because John's men are also at her command: She knows everything about his illicit dealings, in particular the NCR-New Reno alliance against Vault City and its political ramifications, John's detailed records kept for blackmail, the use of deniable mercenaries to pressure Vault City, and long term plans to make Reno a part of the Republic, so that the Bishops can control the drug trade within the NCR and manipulate their elections. In fact, she even knows of a way to get rid of her husband in a deniable way, but needs someone brave (or stupid) enough to risk it.
