Last Edit: Oct. 30th, 2022. Personally, I'm using the JWL list in the last section of this guide as the continued update on the mod has made my list a bit obsolete.
Basic Information:
  1. If you have found any mods that is incompatible with the current version (v1.6.1), please let me know. However, the purpose of this guide is to provide a list of mods to choose from to build up your own list.
  2. REDMod is somehow wonky for Vortex as far as I am aware of (Nov.14th, 2022). But manual installations works just fine. Usually just pressing continue also works.
  3. If using REDMod, make sure to have the REDMod DLC download checked in steam and turn on mods in the launcher.
  4. I am not a professional modder, just making this document to guide whoever that is interested and myself for future modding efforts.
  5. Always start with a fresh installation when possible, no residual modded file in your directory, such as the cache folder under /r6.
  6. I would like to say to install by the listed order, but I am not 100% sure if it is the optimized order yet.
Change Log:
  1. Oct.17th, 2022: Initial release.
  2. Oct. 30th, 2022: Content fix, added links and instructions to mods, and an initial modlist for JWL Blackwall Mod.
  3. Nov. 14th, 2022: Grammar fix.
Methods
We will simply use Vortex for the Hardlink Deployment method. If encountering mods that does not offer vortex support, install manually as instructed on the mod page. The procedure should as simple as:
  1. Find the mod on Cyberpunk 2077 Nexus[www.nexusmods.com]
  2. Read the mod descriptions and the comment section
  3. Download the mod
  4. Unpack the mod with 7-zip[www.7-zip.org] or something else
  5. Drag the folder to the root game directory or the /mods folder in the root directory
  6. Give an endorsement about the mod if you enjoy it

The Hardlink Deployment page as shown in Vortex:
Basic Libraries
We start off with the basic libraries, then move onwards from gameplay related topics to quality of life sections. Most links within this guide redirect toward Nexus Mods[www.nexusmods.com].
  1. REDMod[www.cyberpunk.net]
  2. Cyber Engine Tweaks[www.nexusmods.com]
  3. Redscript[www.nexusmods.com]
  4. Red4EXT[www.nexusmods.com]
  5. ArchiveXL[www.nexusmods.com]
  6. TweakXL[www.nexusmods.com]
  7. Material and Texture Override[www.nexusmods.com]
    (Manual install)
  8. Native Settings UI[www.nexusmods.com]
  9. CyberCMD[www.nexusmods.com]
(To integrate the use of REDMod with other mods)
  10. Virtual Atelier[www.nexusmods.com]
  11. Mod Settings[www.nexusmods.com]
  12. Input Loader[www.nexusmods.com]
Again, these basic libraries should meet the requirements of most, if not all, mods on Nexus. And none of these libraries should conflict with each other.
Gameplay, Cyberware, and Shops
  1. Silent Silencers and Throwing Knives[www.nexusmods.com]
  2. Legendary Cyberware Collection[www.nexusmods.com]
(Download the main file as we are using all the extra cyberwares)
  3. Ranged Attack Speed Damage Fix[www.nexusmods.com]
  4. Time Dilation Overhaul[www.nexusmods.com]
(Optionally also download the customization file to edit your Sandevistan)

  18. Ped Damage Overhaul 2077[www.nexusmods.com]
    (Manual install)
  19. Simple XP Multiplier[www.nexusmods.com]
It is worth to note that it takes considerable amount of tweaking within the game regarding the mod SDO - Scissors Difficulty Options, Ped Damage Overhaul 2077, and Damage Floor to get the difficulty that is the most to your liking. In the comment section of Ped Damage Overhaul 2077, there exists a link of the Recommended Settings[imgur.com] provided by yadilloH[www.nexusmods.com].

Screenshot of the post mentioning the recommended settings:
Appearance, Clothing, and Locations
All mods here can be considered optional, some adds additional locations or additional props to the scenes, while the other mods would offer an alternative HUD experience.
  1. Appearance Menu Mod[www.nexusmods.com]
    (Optional but good to have)
  2. Edgerunners Location Additions[www.nexusmods.com]
  3. Lizzy's Bar Enhanced[www.nexusmods.com]

  10. Outfits for Male and Female[www.nexusmods.com]
(Download (M) Formal Suits - 3 sets, compliments the look with the kimono replacement)
Vehicles
Adds the ability to modify your vehicle at a physical garage, tweaks the performance of the bike, and adding a new Nomad themed vehicle. The Let There Be Flight[www.nexusmods.com]mod is not included simply because I do not enjoy it as much.
  1. Car Modification Shop [www.nexusmods.com]
  2. Bike Overhaul[www.nexusmods.com]
  3. The DocWorks ''Arcadia'' Mk. VI - Full Remake[www.nexusmods.com]
(Invisible first summon, change appearance with AMM to fix)

An very dated screenshot of the Arcadia:
Quality of Life Improvements
Simply making things better, one bit at a time. An honorable mention would be the Metro System[www.nexusmods.com]. I do not use it, which is why it's not included in the list.
  1. Auto on Neon Rims[www.nexusmods.com]
  2. Extended and Improved Headlights[www.nexusmods.com]
  3. Talk to Me[www.nexusmods.com]

  10. Always First Equip[www.nexusmods.com]
  11. Improved Minimap Zoom[www.nexusmods.com]
  12. Enhanced Craft[www.nexusmods.com]

Ending Notes
That is it. I wish to have made this a quasi-realistic rpg-shooter experience more on the hardcore side, but the amazing mod HARDCORE22 - Realistic Combat Overhaul - 1.6 READY[www.nexusmods.com] essentially makes the RPG element of Cyberpunk 2077 irrelevant.

A mod called JWL Cyberpunk BLACKWALL - Complete Gameplay Overhaul and Rebalance[www.nexusmods.com] is aiming to address the mentioned issue. When this article was drafted, the blackwall mod was only starting to take form, and at the time of this revision, Oct. 30th, 2022, the mod has improved drastically.

Slàinte Mhath!
A Modlist based on JWL Cyberpunk Blackwall
Continuing from the previous section, this section of the article compiles a new modlist that is based on JWL Cyberpunk BLACKWALL - Complete Gameplay Overhaul and Rebalance[www.nexusmods.com]. The installation order should be correct in the following paragraphs.

  1. REDMod[www.cyberpunk.net]
  2. Cyber Engine Tweaks[www.nexusmods.com]
  3. Redscript[www.nexusmods.com]

  5. ArchiveXL[www.nexusmods.com]
  6. Native Settings UI[www.nexusmods.com]

  8. Mod Settings[www.nexusmods.com]
  9. Input Loader[www.nexusmods.com]
Gameplay
  1. JWL Cyberpunk BLACKWALL - Complete Gameplay Overhaul and Rebalance[www.nexusmods.com]
(Downloaded Version 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 Patch as of Oct.30th, 2022)

(Delete two files from the Blackwall mod folder:
    • tweaks/base/gameplay/static_data/time.tweak
    • tweaks/base/gameplay/static_data/database/scanning/scanning.tweak
Otherwise it conflicts with the Blackwall mod)
  9. https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/4408
  10. Sensible Stamina and Athletics[www.nexusmods.com]
    (Stamina now is very taxing)
  11. System-EX[www.nexusmods.com]
Quality of Life Improvements
  1. Fast Launch (Skip Startup Videos)[www.nexusmods.com]
  2. Car Modification Shop[www.nexusmods.com]
Additional Comments
More mods should be compatible to the above mentioned list. However, to use the Blackwall mod, A New Game is required to mitigate any potential problems. It is also advisable to play on the hardest difficulty to compliment the changes made in the Blackwall mod.

Looks like v2.12 might be the final version of 2077? Checked on JWL Blackwall mod and it's yet to be updated according to the author's promise. Guess it'll be a long wait...

a dozen different softwares to mod one game, i don't understand why game devs and studios will "support" modding but make it confusing and tedious, why can't it be straight foward and simple... i've seen it be done with other games so why not more games do that?!?!?

Legendary Cyberware Collection has had an update and now requires a ton of extra mods not listed here

Yea sure, I'll look into it. But as long as the major patch is not kicking in (say v1.6 -> v1.7), everything should work just fine.

will you update the guide for the new patch? or perhaps make a new one?

If a game can be modded, I'll play it two ways. First play is without mods, apart from improving graphics, as it doesn't change the game play. The second time is with mods, no holding back. It's amazing how much mods can change a game. My method is almost like getting two games for the price of one.

Well...

Actual good list for once instead of big titty v mods for loser gooners. Still disappointed that those types of mods are at the top of nexus after 2 years.

No workshop as far as I know. I've used Nexus for years and it hasn't failed me yet. Plus Cyber Engine Tweaks is the most important mod prerequisite for 2077.
