Creating a Spore account

Firstly, you will need an EA account on EA .

To make an actual SPORE account you need to boot up Spore and when you're in Spore, click register button at the bottom left of your screen and you'll see this box:

On the "already have an EA account?" section, enter your EA account information and choose a screename (username). Once you've done that, you are logged in and can explore the community on Spore.com.

Accessing the Spore Community (Sporepedia)

Head over to Spore[www.spore.com] and click "Login" at the top right of the page.
Once you are in, you will need buddies who's creations will show up in your game.

From the http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=all <---Sporepedia you can click on the Creations of a buddy you like, you will be sent to the Creation's page and you can click on the name of the Creator and add as buddy [NOTE they do not need to accept you as a buddy, you are basically subscribing to their creations.] This is essentially how you connect with the Spore Community, search for tags on the Sporepedia find nice creators and add them as buddy!

IF the Register screen does not show up for you :(

Sadly I am unsure what to do about this other than installing Spore on an entirely new PC/laptop. SOMEWHERE on your PC is some file that says you have already registered and so it won't show up for you again. I once found some forum post saying what file that is and how to reset it/remove it but after so much searching I cannot find it again.

SporeNewOpenSSL (Spore Mod API)

This Spore mod is made specifically for disc Spore, with the latest patch. It allowes for online functionality to work again, meaning you no longer need to migrate to irigin to GoG in order to play online. This requires Spore Mod API, google that and you'll be able to set it up EZ.

I have seen other guides, and they tell you that you NEED to basically ditch Steam Spore and redeem your CD key on Origin, but you DO NOT need to do this, making an account on https://www.ea.com and then registering on Spore through just Steam works fine, the alternative is only extra steps to solving something so simple :D. theres always been this weird confusing technical difficulty with the account registration of Spore, that everyone has differently... IDK :(

This will not work; you must actually own the game on your EA account to be able to login while in-game.
You don't need to ditch Steam Spore; you just need to register the CD keys (in the cases that Steam actually provides them) onto your EA account, and then it should work regardless of if you're playing Steam Spore, GOG Spore or Origin/EA Desktop Spore.

Spore games on Steam will not recognize your EA account by default (see workaround below), nor will CDKEYS work (because EA has denied the CDKEYS registration access to Steam due to some exploit issue).

What worked for me is the following workaround:
1. Purchase the Spore Creature Creator game on EA store/app. It is cheap and usually on sale.
2. Install and run the game - it will prompt you to create the Spore account.
3. Launch the Spore games one by one on Steam (in this sequence: 1. Spore, 2. Spore Creepy & Cute, 3. Spore Galactic Adventures), and when each of those games start up, just log in with the Spore account created on EA. This will connect the game to the Spore servers, and the online & Sporepedia functionality will then work. You don't need to login again for future launches of the game.
4. You can play just the Galactic Adventures game as it has the functionality of the Spore, Spore Creepy & Cute, as these games are installed in same folder.

it says that "there was an error connecting to the spore servers. your computer may be offline or having internet problems, check the connection or visit spore.com" even though my connection is pristine and my ea account is freshly made.
