In the Profiles tab in DS4Windows click new. It will ask if you want to use the default preset, say yes.


Now this is important, on the next windows choose DualShock 4 as the Output controller. Apply!


Next up is to name the profile Detroid and save it so you can use it on your DualSense.


We are now done with the profile.

Now that we have a profile we can select it for the DualSense. Connect the DualSense with a cable and wait for it to show up in the Controllers Tab from DS4Windows.

Now change the Selected profile from Default to Detroid.



Steam and other programs will now see your DualSense as a DualShock 4 controller.

If you experience and Detroid is not working you may want to hide the original DualSense. In the DS4Windows Settings tick the Hide DS4 Controller.
