There's obviously high-tier stuff that gives scrap from components, like the Road Sign Jacket giving 5 (from a road sign), and guns that have metal pipes, but they might not be worth recycling. The chance of scrap components are generally ones that cost a scrap component to build, and when recycled have a 50% chance to get the scrap component back. It can be more profitable to sell these items in a player-made shop for more scrap than their recycle value. Recycling workbenches doesn't provide scrap.

Remember that the road signs can be destroyed by hitting them, giving a metal pipe and road sign that can be recycled for scrap.
