Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q)
The game won't load or crashes on startup.
A1: If you use Nahimic or FMOD for audio boosting, Strix, Aegis 3, Sonic Studio 2,
RivaTuner Statistics Server, Portrait Displays\Pivot Software or any Apple products such as
Bonjour, these programs will need to be temporarily disabled during your gameplay.

A1b: If you use FMOD, use the following steps:
Go into Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound
It may tell you your default sound card is disabled. If it does, re-enable your sound card and that should correct the problem.

A1c: If you have to have Citrix installed, open up Control Panel, then open the Device Manager applet. Click the arrow next to “System Devices” then right click on and disable “Citrix Virtual Bus Enumerator”.

A2: For MacOS players:
Go into /Users/[YOUR USERNAME]/Library/Application
Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Mystwood/Manor/Contents/MacOS/Mystwood
Manor/profile

Or try:
/Users/<YourUsername>/Library/Application Support/com.FaerinGames.MystwoodManor/profile

Look for and delete “settings.ini”. Then reload the game as the settings will now be reset to default.

For Windows players:
By default, Mystwood Manor will be located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mystwood Manor\

Open up your "profile" folder. Look for and delete “settings.ini”. Then reload the game as the settings will now be reset to default.

Otherwise try this:
A3: Open (with any text editor of your preference) your "player" log which can be found by following these steps:
  1. Use the Windows + R keys and paste the following in your Run box:
    %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Faerin Games\Mystwood Manor
  2. Search for the following: gameoverlayrenderer64.dll
If found, open your Nvidia Control Panel, go into "Manage 3D Settings" and disable V-Sync as well as Anti-aliasing. Then restart the game.

A4: For in depth help, please look here.

Unable to see images/black screen throughout the game/animated scenes freezing

A1: This could be due to a number of factors such as, but not limited to:
  • Outdated video card driver.
  • If your GPU/video card is an NVIDIA and you are experiencing freezing in your
animated scenes, try this: Disable V-Sync in the Nvidia Control Panel under "3D Settings".

A2: You may be missing some Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable runtime packages.
Download the all-in-one pack[www.techpowerup.com], unzip the files to a temporary location and run the included batch (install_all.bat) file. Then start your game.

A3: Another option you might try is temporarily disabling your antivirus software and firewall or adding the Mystwood Manor folder to your antivirus/firewall exception list.

A4: If you’re running Windows 10 N or Windows 10 KN, you will need an alternative to the
Windows Media Feature Pack.
Try here[www.microsoft.com].
Or here[support.microsoft.com].
After installation, try replaying the animated scene where you noticed the animation issue and
see if that helps.

A5: If you use ReShade, delete the file "dxgi.dll" from the ReShade folder.
