First, download the patch. It will fix camera for widescreen resolutions.
For English version:
1. Run the patch
2. Install it in your Gothic directory (C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Gothic for Steam version or C:\Program Files\Piranha Bytes\Gothic for non-Steam version)

For non-English version:
1. Navigate to the following directory: _work/Data/Scripts/Content/Cutscene (it's in your Gothic folder).
2. Find the ou.bin file and rename it to ou.bin.bak.
3. Install the patch.
4. Go back to that directory, and delete the ou.bin file installed by the patch.
5. Rename ou.bin.bak back to ou.bin.
6. Your languages subtitles should be preserved .

It's a bit annoying. Navigate to your Gothic\System folder, copy Gothic.ini somewhere else and edit it. You have to swap resolutions to match your screen.

Now you need to copy this edited Gothic.ini to your Gothic\System and overwrite the original one folder before you want to start the game. That's because when you'll quit the game, it will revert to original values (640x480). Making this file Read-only will only crash the game, so you have do it in my way. :)

Gothic will have very low FPS, that will hurt your eyes. What do you do? You have to install Gothic Player Kit to your Gothic folder, and then install Gothic FPS patch, which will unlock framerate.
1. Install Gothic Player Kit (point it to same directory as the patch)
2. Install Gothic FPS Patch, pointing it to Gothic\System\GothicMOD.exe
3. Great success!

If you use Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, you will have strange white or black borders around your screen. Solution is very easy - download the fix and run it. The borders are gone!

If you are experiencing Access Violation error, you need to disable Steam in game (Steam Settings and disable game overlay). It should help with Access Violation, but if it doesn't, navigate to your Steam folder and delete GameOverlayRenderer.dll.
Don't worry, if you restart Steam, this file will re-download.
