Story Achievement/Collectable Guide

I recommend playing through the game on normal the first time if you plan on 100% this game. Upgrades will remain in all play-throughs and you unlock cheats after you beat the game which will help a lot in insane where you have to blow multiple guns worth of ammo to kill one enemy.

This guide only has the achievements for the base campaign and does not cover the Infestation mode or Path of War DLC, which are incredibly straight forward as it is.

Level 1: Armageddon
Audio Log 1 (Log 6)

After you blow up the high up target that bursts into flames first (the tank thing), look to your right. It's right in front of the barricades.


Audio Log 2 (Log 21)

As you run down the street, you'll see stairs leading through some heavy duty gates. Turn around and the log is to the right of the structure.


Unto The Breach Achievement

Story related, after finishing the level.
Level 2: The Terraformer
Audio Log 3 (Log 22)

You'll go up a bunch of ramps that spiral. Once you are at the top of the area, go through the first door on the right.


Audio Log 4 (Log 23)

You'll destroy a bunch of stuff and move on for a while. You'll eventually go up another ramp that spirals slightly. You'll be in a room and on your left before a door with a big generator, you'll see three pickups. The one on the right is the audio log.


Audio Log 5 (Log 33)

Automatic after you beat the level.
Level 3: Dig Site
No Audio Logs


Secrets Long Buried Achievement

Story related, after finishing the level.
Level 4: We're Not Alone
Audio Log 6 (Log 20)

As you travel the level, you'll be talking on the radio and environment will shake. Keep an eye out to your left to see a structure that's partially destroyed. Below at the bottom near it, is the radio and some salvage.


Zero G War Achievement

When you get to the upgrade station, go ahead and purchase Shockwave. You should have enough to purchase it (it's 1000 Salvage). Now whenever you are around enemies, us Shockwave (Z). Kill the enemies while they are in mid-air. You need 50 of these types of kills. Can be done with any weapon, and on the weaker enemies, they will die from it. You can keep doing this move and get the achievement quickly if you focus on it.


Martian Matchmaker Achievement

With the magnet gun, you must shoot one enemy and then shoot another. Once they collide you will get this achievement. You can do this on the first batch of enemies.


What is Best in Life Achievement

When fighting creepers (the first aliens you see that crawl around) stand about a foot in front of them and hold melee, you should do a stomping animation. You have to stomp 50 of them, you can either keep this in mind as you play or keep resetting the checkpoint after the first big group of these that you fight.


Audio Log 7 (Log 24)

This log is on your path and to your right. It's right in front of a ramp and very hard to miss.


We're Not Alone Achievement

Story related, after finishing the level.
Level 5: Outbreak
Audio Log 8 (Log 2)

This is very early on in the level. You'll get to a sign with different directions, and on the right is a fire just up some stairs. The audio file is there.


Audio Log 9 (Log 8)

Once you get to a town-like area with neon signs, continue on through a tunnel and as you enter to your left is a truck on fire. Near there you should see the audio log. This is where you will be introduced to an enemy that fires green projectiles at you (the Monolith).
Level 6: Road to Bastion
Audio Log 10 (Log 36)

When you start this level, turn around and you'll see it behind the guy next to the tables.


Audio Log 11 (Log 11)

After reparing the bridge, continue on. You will need to destroy an infected building. Close by on higher ground is an upgrade station. To the right of it by some boxes is the log.


Boom Goes the Dynamite Achievement

To get this achievement you must have a beserker explode and kill 2 other enemies. These enemies are the bigger/tougher enemies that have lots of life. When you reach the excavator and power it on (after the last audio log) you will have to survive while it is running. You don't have a lot of room to avoid oncoming attacks, so just focus your shots on the beserker that comes up on the left. When he is weak, change to your magnet gun and shoot him with it. Now shoot close to a group of enemies and it will explode, killing some of them and gaining the achievement. If you want to retry, you can always reload your last checkpoint.


Audio Log 12 (Log 25)

You'll find a LEO Exo Suit. It's a mech type suit that lets you fire unlimited ammo and rockets. Once you destroy the two structures (an objective you get), you'll continue on. Two Monolith enemies will come out of the ground. After dispatching of the enemies in this area, you should see a garage to the right of where the enemies spawned. It's inside center and back. You must exit the suit to get the log.


Crusader Achievement

This achievement is for killing 175 enemies with the Exo suit. You can grind these out and reload your checkpoint if you want, or continue on. You can kill them in any way. The best spot in this level if you choose to grind them out, is during the objective "Stop the Attack" right after repairing a generator.


Audio Log 13 (Log 35 )

After pulling a switch and getting on something called the Gondola (basically a lift that brings you to another area), you will have an objection to get to the Bastion elevator. Right after you step onto land again, look to your right and you'll see a road that curves and and goes backwards. Follow it to the end for the log.


Ooooh Yeah! Achievement

While in the LEO Exo Suit, you msut run down 5 enemies and kill them. After the previous log after the Gondola, head on route and two Monolith enemies will appear from the ground. There will be around 8 Creepers that start coming your way. Line them up and smash into the group by pressing Q. If you mess up, you can reload the checkpoint.


Liftoff Achievement

Near the end of the level when moving closer to the elevator, you will need to repair a generator. After running back up from the generator, you will be attacked. If you get out of your LEO Exo Suit, you can magnet an enemy across the large gap of the caverns and get this achievement. You may or may not have already gotten this, as it can be obtained in many places. This is a great spot to also get "Crusader". While killing the enemies, press :rs: to throw the enemies. This will really help to get "What is the Best in Life" achievement too.


Vanguard Achievement

You get this after beating the level.
Level 7: Bastion Defenses
Audio Log 14 (Log 27)

This is at the very start of the level. There is a tube-like structure to your right with the audio log at the end. This is to the right of the turret.


Audio Log 15 (Log 1)

As you continue in the levle, you'll come to a tunnel with two turrets in front of it. To the right before entering the tunnel is the log.


Audio Log 16 (Log 5)

Right after exiting the tunnel you can make out the audio log in the distance to your right. It's up some stairs in front of a generator you need to repair. You can get before repairing the generator it's in front of. This one is very hard to miss.
Level 8: Water Supplies
Audio Log 17 (Log 37)

At the very start of this level, it's in your viewpoint. It's to the right of the path you must go on, in the little shack. Get this before wandering too far.


Audio Log 18 (Log 19)

Just moments away you'll head through a tunnel and be killing many enemies. You'll be on the top floor and on the opposite side is the audio file in view.


Audio Log 19 (Log 28)


After the first water pumps are repaired, you'll navigate through an area with lots of white crystals on the wall. When you come out, you will see an Upgrade Station and Weapon Locker. Look left at the monorail area. You will need to sprint and jump right at the ledge to make it.


Hold Still Achievement

You should have noticed at upgrade stations you are on the next tier by now. The second ring of upgrades has an improved Shockwave. Purchase it for 1000 salvage. This can be done in many places. After the last audio file, as you head to the next water pumps, you'll see a bunch of enemies that spawn (creepers). Jump down in the middle of them and do the move.
Level 9: Ice Mines
Audio Log 20 (Log 15)

Once you start this level (after climbing down from the last) you an upgrade station and a weapon locker. In between them is the log.


Crack Shot Achievement

The game will introduce you to the Wraith. It vanishes and reappears. If you don't have any strong weapons, run backwards to the weapons locker. The rocket launcher will work perfectly. Now continue in the tunnel and once the Wraith appears, shoot it and get the achievement.


Audio Log 21 (Log 16)

After navigating through a building you'll fight enemies and 2 monoliths. You'll come to a path that goes left and has stairs, and a path right that descends. Go on the right path for the audio log.


Audio Log 22 (Log 17)

After getting the elevator repaired and rising up to the next area, continue on but keep a very close eye on your left. You you will get to a hallway that has bright lights on the ceiling. In here, on the left is an open door. Head inside and fall to the ground. There is a crane in the middle.


Things Fall Apart Achievement

After completing the level.
Level 10: Infection
Audio Log 23 (Log 12)

You will be needing to destroy infected buildings. As you make your way to each, you should see an upgrade station and weapons locker as you head towards the second. To the right and in front of the opposite side's structure, you will find this log.


Audio Log 24 (Log 13)

Make your way to the third infected building. You should see a little building to your right and a fan to your left. This is when you go down a few steps (which possibly isn't obvious). The little building on the right has some plants with a red heater above them. To your right is the log. This is all before going up the many steps to the building.


Audio Log 25 (Log 14)

Follow your marker to the 4th infected building. The log is opposite the building, on the right of a structure.
Level 11: On the Run
Audio Log 26 (Log 31)

This is to the left of the second weapons locker in the level, right after talking to Kara on the radio and getting the objective to meet her at the market.


Audio Log 27 (Log 30)

As you exit the market, you should see a bright blue neon sign that says Authorized Personnel Only. To the left of it is a rock that has a note saying "Get to Bastion". Pass through the gate with the sign and continue. Upon entering the structure ahead, look to your left.


Audio Log 28 (Log 29)

You will get to a ladder you must repair (where you must get out of your suit finally to continue on). After going up this ladder you'll see the log.


Money Well Spent Achievement

Buy out any one Upgrade Ring. You should have gotten enough salvage to have obtained this by now (6000). Really depends where you put your upgrades.


In. The. Face! Achievement

Fight the Behemoth (the big creature that as a lot of health). As you get it to low health, go finish it off with the maul (your hammer). If you have gotten a kill with the maul on all the other enemy types, you should get this achievement.

Survival of the Fittest Achievement

This is story related, after the level ends.
Level 12: The Red Faction
Audio Log 29 (Log 32)

Play through the level and you'll eventually face a behemoth. After killing it, go back up the hill where the last 2 pods were that you had to destroy (of the 8). The audio log appears after you had faced the behemoth.


I'm All You've Got Achievement

Story related, you will get this after defending the area with the Exo suit.
Level 13: Relay Stations
Audio Log 30 (Log 7)

After you destroy the first relay station, you will see this on your path right after picking up the Rail Driver weapon.

Note: If you have gotten all 30 logs so far, you can choose to skip them from now on. Later on you will get 10 logs automatically given through the story.


Audio Log 31 (Log 34)

After destroying the 4th station, the game will want you to continue forth over a bridge. Look left and go on that bridge instead. Look to your right after crossing.

Note: You may have found this if you went a different route to get to the 4th station.


Weather the Storm Achievement

Story related, after destroying all the stations.
Level 14: Heavy Metal
Martian Drive-By Achievement

You must kill 100 enemies while in the Mantis Heavy Walker. There will be a point where there are around 15 or more enemies that appear at once, right after a checkpoint. After killing them, feel free to reload checkpoint and grind the kills out. You will be in Mantis again and get this naturally though, but you can get them if you aren't patient here.
Level 15: The Temple
No Achievements for this level
Level 16: Hale
Family Business Achievement

Story related, after destroying Hale's walker.
Level 17: Must Go Faster
Must Go Faster Achievement

Story related, after finishing the level.
Level 18: Marauder Defenses
Audio Log 32 (Log 3)

As you make your way to the front line, you will come to a structure with bridges and lava under. Go straight up the first bridge and keep walking down the next to the audio log.


Haymaker Achievement

Once you get to the front line, there will be an endless amount of creepers coming at you. They willl continue to re-spawn and there are a lot of them. This is a great place to get this achievement (as well as any others that require many enemies if you haven't gotten them yet). Use Haymaker with many of them in front of you. You want to think of it as a wave of force going forward, versus an area of effect. As long as 5 of the enemies die, you will get the achievement.


Audio Log 33 (Log 4)

On your way to the generators, you'll pass a room with many alien-looking machines. In the middle is a white one with a hologram on the back. To the left of this room when facing the piece in the middle, is the log.
Level 19: Older Enemies
Audio Log 34 (Log 18)

You'll see this as soon as you start the level, next to the weapons locker.


Audio Log 35 (Log 9)

After clearing an area and headed towards the labs, you'll repair a walkway as you pass by tentacles that come out of the wall. You'll reach an area where one will show up from the floor in the distance. To your left is the log.


Audio Log 36 (Log 10)

You'll eventually be running down a walkway. It will lead to a lighted cavern with computers. Upon entering, look to your left. This is just before going over a bridge that you must repair after something from above drops on it.


Plan B Achievement

Story related, after this level.
Level 20: Air Support
Chronicler Achievement

This achievement is awarded at the start of the level as long as you have collected at least 30 logs. You are automatically given 10 from the cut-scene before this level.


Hit N' Run Achievement

You must ram an enemy and kill it with the vehicle you are in. Just ram into one to get the achievement. May take a few attempts, as sometimes they die from the fall or by hitting something instead.


Old Friends, Older Enemies Achievement

Story related, after destroying the bridge and ending the level.
Level 21: The Road Less Traveled
Audio Log 37 (Log 26)

After you ride the barge and shoot enemies, you will come to a force field and have to get off to deactivate it. As you head to the objective, look to your right once you enter a small structure. This is the last audio log in the game.


Back At YA! Achievement

You must use the Shell power which must be first purchased. Buy Shell for 1000 Salvage, then Shell Boost for another 1000 Salvage. Finally, purchase Reflective Shell for 1500 Salvage. Now you must reflect projectiles back at an enemy and have it die.


Knock, Knock Achievement

Story related, at the end of the level.
Level 22: Knock, Knock
Exterminator Achievement

Destroy 100 pods to get this achievement. There are enough to get the achievement without reloading a checkpoint. You should have no problem getting the kills.


Losses Achievement

Story related, at the end of the level.
Level 23: The Lair
Nanergy! Achievement

This achievement requires you to get 25,000 total salvage. You should have gotten enough by this level if you were keeping an eye out


One Big, Ugly Motha. . . Achievement

Story related, at the end of the level.
Level 24: Last Chance
Breath Easy Achievement

Story related, after activating the terraformer and finishing the level.
