Aur

Aur worked as a low-life miner from Julesvale, living simple and humble before succumbing to a chance for change, only to be crystallized and cacooned. Waking up and seeing the world transformed, he lives to try and find justice and bring life back to the way it was before.

While having a ton of strength, Aur is quite slow and slightly heavy due to the pickaxes that cursed him, as well as his general weariness with age. Because of this, he plays simple and slow, but can easily be overwhelmed by greed, giving him a powerful burst of speed when collecting gems and gold.





• GOLD RUSH - Aur goes into a frenzy when collecting gold from his Neutral Special and Down Special, which increases his speed tenfold.

• CHISEL CHARGE - Aur's forward special is cancellable into anything on hit, and gives him a large burst of speed if you cancel early enough.

• SLIDING STRIKES - When Aur is Gold Rushing, his strongs gain the ability to slide while charging, giving him an extra power factor on the ground.

Aur is inspired by Miner from Risk Of Rain, though the inspiration has fallen a bit in translation. The Miner was a character I had planned to make before Aur, and he still exists on workshop, but he was never finished due to a lack of quality at the time.

Aur has a SUPER AWESOME secret taunt if you hold the parry button before using it.

This characters development took almost 2 years, but the idea for a character with a pickaxe has been in my mind since workshop started up back in 2019.

The bird on Aurs platform is a canary named "Adamas". Canaries were used when coal mining was still done by hand in order to tell when the carbon monoxide levels got too high; when they would panic and get sick. Because their bodies are smaller, they would react before the miners, giving them time to get out. Before using canaries, mice were also a popular method, but since they made less noise and were less durable, canaries slowly took over.
