Go to Gren Acres stage. Choose any character. I choose Leda. Run off the edge of the world, means go to bottom left corner. Next bigs eyes appears. Kill 128 eyes. Sound appears. Now you can buy MissingN0 in menu.

To unlock missingN▯, the Yellow Sign must first be unlocked. The player must enter Green Acres with Hyper Mode and Hurry Mode enabled. After heading south 18 tilesets and west 18 tilesets, the area's appearance will change drastically. After this happens, enemies that appear to be giant winged eyes will begin to spawn. After killing 128 of them, missingN▯ can be bought from the character select menu.

From what I tested, you need both hurry and hyper mode enabled
Also, the pentagram completely cheeses the fight.

thx, very helpful.

and i tried several combinations, hurry mode must be on in my experience. and queen sigma should not be selected, or i can't run off the map.

@Kayana Does that mean you got the character without hurry mode? Because it worked for me after I turned hurry mode on, but I could have been dawdling on my first try.

@Jikkuryuu I'm not sure what "the most adverse fate" means to be honest because it doesn't seem to matter all that much in my experience. Just rush to the southwest til the map changes, but if you take too long getting there it won't be available.

I personally did it with Red Death with all game mode options on. Got done pretty quickly, just choose an arcana that boosts the overall power of your starter weapon and build around it. I think I took slash for my run.

The secret hint mentions 'the most adverse fate' and you have all four boxes ticked in the stage selection screen. That might be worth including in the instructions, as I didn't run off the map with hurry mode turned off.
