Modular 6-Pack Steam-Gauges (flight instruments for 1x1 monitors)

Description
This is a collection of individual custom analogue gauges.

It includes:
  • airspeed indicator
  • artificial horizon
  • altimeter
  • turn coordinator
  • heading indicator
  • variometer (vertical speed indicator)

All gauges have options you can configure to your preference / use case.

Each gauge has completely separate logic and sensors, so you can pick and choose what you want.

You are looking for a radar altimeter? I uploaded one as a stand-alone version:
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2937543911

Artificial Horizon

The artificial horizon has a pitch trim feature using the touch screen, here's how to use it:

Pressing the top half of the knob on the lower left hand side corner of the instrument will trim pitch up, the bottom half down. Pressing and holding both at the same time (using e+q) resets the trim.
Current trim is indicated by the dial mark on the knob. When trim is neutral the mark will become thicker.

The artificial horizon can be used with either physics sensor or standard sensors. You need to set the "Sensor Type" property accordingly and resize the MC to include all Number inputs. Mixing physics sensor and standard sensor inputs is not supported.

Turn Coordinator

The turn coordinator can no longer be used with the standard sensors due to a complete rework of the physics. I don't plan on changing that unless requested enough.

If the airspeed indicator has "dead pixels" with your speed settings between the white and coloured arcs, tweaking the "Polygons per 180deg of Arc" slider should fix it.

Some instruments use the same sensor. If you use multiple instruments you can delete the duplicate sensors and consolidate the logic connections.

If you want to publish a creation that uses these flight instruments, I'd appreciate a shout-out or link. Thank you!

I'm neither a pilot nor a programmer, so if you notice anything misbehaving let me know and I'll try to fix it!

Step-by-step installation guide for new players:
  • Copy the logic and sensor blocks of the instrument(s) you want using the select tool in the editor
  • Load the creation you want to add the instrument(s) to
  • Paste the copied blocks onto your creation (Do not rotate or mirror the sensor blocks!)
  • Cut and paste sensors and logic blocks to wherever you want them, all logic connections will stay connected
  • Merge all the pasted blocks with the relevant physics body of your creation (usually the main, red one) using the merge tool
  • Install 1x1 monitors, give them electricity and an "on"-signal
  • Connect the video output of the instrument logic block to the monitor
  • Artificial Horizon: Connect the monitors composite output to the logic block for the pitch trim feature
  • Configure the logic block property values to your liking using the select tool

Have fun! <3

@Nitty_Gritty1 Alright. Thanks for the credit.

@Bassalicious, I apologize, I not quite sure where that came from... It works fine, and I will certainly credit you in my build, which is a quite impressive trimotor, if I do say so myself. Please feel free to check it out when it comes out. (pretty soon if all goes well...)

@Nitty_Gritty1 What isn't functional about my turn coordinator? I set it up for standard rate turns.

I would love to have a functional turn coordinator, if possible.

I will credit you.

Great work on the movable artificial horizon. Changing over the the physics sensor is also really nice. 😁
